that 00:43 sound 00:47 [Music] 00:49 yeah that sounds good this is a Ferrari 00:51 motor a Ferrari derived engine so they 00:54 cut a v12 in half they kind of v8 with 00:57 two cylinders off and they made into a 00:58 v6 okay so let's get into horsepower and 01:01 torque 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet 01:04 of torque from a 2.9 liter v6 twin-turbo 01:10 and if you guys are watching this video 01:12 without subscribing do us a favor just 01:14 subscribe okay so now let's get to

the 01:15 important part the sound yeah I want to 01:20 talk about the sound first - this is 01:22 literally in my favorite sounding 01:24 ever this is my favorite sounding v6 01:27 ever 01:32 here's the thing it's not too loud when 01:34 you're normally driving it so you put it 01:35 into race mode and it gets so loud from 01:38 the outside but not inside 01:44 yeah there's no actual button to control 01:45 it you can only control it by putting 01:47 into race mode and i t sounds so

good 01:50 Yuri let me do two guys ended and when 01:55 you nail it up shift it's burn burn 01:59 in tunnels it is so friggin loud and 02:02 there's no fake popping unless like that 02:04 bar is fake I don't know no I think 02:05 that's just the automatic shifting so 02:07 quickly it's my favorite sound it sounds 02:11 incredible it's so exotic sounding like 02:13 nothing else sounds like this it's so 02:15 liveable - I can't say enough good 02:17 things about this I think my

the 03:47 beautiful things because this thing is 03:48 absolutely stunning can I tell you one 03:50 thing that bothers me about the front 03:51 end yes it's the little sensor thing at 03:53 the bottom grill that I can't unsee is 03:55 that our cruise control sensor whatever 03:57 it is it bothers me but it kind of 04:00 offsets the offset license plate which 04:02 really is awesome 04:03 yeah it is co ol but I still can't stop 04:05 looking at those fake grills so yeah 04:07 they actually put the

license plate to 04:08 the side they did Focus RS I don't think 04:11 they do that stock or people complain 04:12 about that Mazda that's what they need 04:13 to do well they didn't have a choice 04:15 here I know but it's legal of course 04:17 it'll all these other companies by not 04:19 doing it they're making their cars look 04:20 worse for no reason when alpha is 04:22 killing it some of them Mazda I'm not a 04:24 side plate guy on this one this you have 04:26 to exactly same with the masses

I think 04:28 anyways back to the rest of the looks 04:29 headlights very very good LED outlining 04:33 super sexy coming up in your rear view 04:35 news 04:36 this is a sexy card it's out for Mayo 04:38 it's Italian I'm allowed to say sexy 04:40 yeah yeah it's also a Chrysler product 04:42 just so you guys know FCA oh okay now 04:45 that what the hood is supercool of 04:47 eve nts in the hood and they're actually 04:48 real yeah everything's functional at 04:50 least there and then look at the

motor 04:51 here's a gratuitous shot of the Ferrari 04:53 derived v6 and how about the side 04:55 profile side profile is great it kind of 04:58 looks like every other SUV but nicer 05:00 it's got very elegant body lines nothing 05:02 out of place that's exactly and 05:04 especially if you compare it to that it 05:05 means to be Outlander body lines that we 05:07 re cently reviewed this is style of the 05:09 hooha yes it is 05:12 yes it is very and then we should 05:13 probably talk about the

fender flares 05:15 yeah so I like them but I don't love 05:17 them they look kind of funny from the 05:19 back but you need that to cover the 05:20 wheels 05:21 yeah exactly because they stick out so 05:22 far because they're so wide because it's 05:24 a fast car it is and let's talk about 05:26 the thing you hate the most about the 05:27 look of this c ar what's that I forgot 05:29 the wheel gap oh yeah that's right it is 05:31 massive a whole fist worth yeah it's 05:34 even more than that but

I get it it's an 05:35 SUV I think it just looks so bad because 05:37 the wheels look so cool that would 05:39 easily be solved with some air 05:41 suspension which this does not have is 05:42 the competition of air suspension yes 05:44 the makaan and the GL c63 both have it 05:47 interesting you know what those are the 05:48 ones that we've driven there are other 05:49 competitors it doesn't look like there's 05:51 too much of a wheel gap but the way it 05:52 drives you wouldn't know but let's

talk 05:54 about those wheels first probably the 05:57 best wheels the best wheels fitted on a 05:59 current production model I will put that 06:01 out there I love these wheels and it's 06:03 like a traditional Alfa Romeo look yeah 06:05 I I really like it and then we got those 06:07 big yellow brake calipers yes so we've 06:09 g ot carbon ceramics which are optional 06:11 they are $8,500 and I personally would 06:14 not option them but you can still get 06:16 yellow brake calipers without the

carbon 06:18 ceramics yeah it's a free option it's 06:20 zero dollars to paint your calipers of 06:21 yellow red or black which is pretty cool 06:23 of them to do that and then speaking of 06:25 the cool wheel design what is the 06:26 Continental recommend a tire for the 06:28 Alfa Romeo Stalvey oh the extreme 06:30 co ntact DWS oh six and now onto the back 06:33 end back end is a little bland but the 06:35 best part of it are those exhaust tips 06:37 they are very real and they look

better 06:39 than pretty much all the competition 06:41 yeah they're the realest exhaust tips 06:42 you can get compared to am 06:43 she's a cool quad exhaust but it's not 06:45 realreal yeah it makes BMWs look like a 06:47 joke with those new things that they're 06:48 doing 06:49 oh yeah like just a whole and like exact 06:50 behind it yeah disgusting this is how 06:52 you should do exhaust what do you think 06:54 of the taillights taillights are good 06:55 when they're on but the brake

lights 06:56 kind of stuck the brake lights do suck 06:58 but the outline matches the headlights 07:00 very well yeah exactly so as long as 07:01 you're using your running lights this 07:02 thing will look great 07:03 and then we've got a cool little body 07:05 line in there with a little spoile r on 07:06 the top says that looks pretty normal 07:08 has to be from the back just very 07:09 elegant exactly sexy it is sexy as Jacob 07:13 would put it the Julie is also sexy I 07:16 really want drive

one I so do I and then 07:18 the thing we probably should have 07:19 mentioned first the color 07:21 okay so Misano blue this thing is 07:23 beautiful 07:24 I don't like blues I've made a rant 07:26 about that many times yes you have I 07:28 friggin love this blue it shines it 07:30 sparkles it glows I love this blue as 07:32 well I think the yellow calipers help a 07:34 lot they do and the fact that they're so 07:37 huge but I still wouldn't option them I 07:38 just don't like how they feel

there's 07:40 not enough initial bite I need yellow 07:41 yeah okay so Jacobs gonna talk about the 07:44 power and handling more once he's 07:45 driving but first I want to talk about 07:47 all the weird little things that Alfa 07:49 Romeo does that nobody else does there 's 07:51 a lot of little quirky things that some 07:52 people would put in there's so much 07:54 stuff in here that I love more than 07:55 almost every other manufacturer what's 07:57 that number one the paddles they

are 07:59 call a mounted and it is they're so big 08:03 they're so big they're amazing I don't 08:05 like column-mounted paddles but these 08:07 are so good it feels so good when you 08:09 click them the gears shift right away 08:11 the fast transmission proba bly helps a 08:12 lot with that it does but the clicky 08:14 sound of them the feel of them they're 08:16 metal door chunky they're amazing but 08:18 the collar mountainous is kind of dumb 08:19 sometimes I've taken turns reached

for 08:21 the paddle and ended up just using my 08:23 shifter to shift that's exactly it so 08:24 we're both steering wheel-mounted people 08:26 but I do really like the call amounted 08:28 paddles in this because it feels like a 08:30 treat it fee ls exotic it does actually 08:32 and then the shifter is up for down down 08:34 for up so it is the correct way which is 08:35 very nice next thing start/stop button 08:37 for the ignition guess where it is on 08:39 the steering wheel like a racecar

like a 08:42 Ferrari I believe it's very cool every 08:44 time I miss the start/stop button 08:45 thinking it's over here I end up 08:47 clicking it on the steering wheel and 08:48 not being upset at all I end up being 08:50 pleasantly surprised 08:51 next go out for a Mayo thing 08:53 you can start in sport mode yeah you can 08:55 you can't start in race mode because to 08:56 get to race mode you need to turn the 08:57 dial all the way to the right and it's 08:59 definitely not called sport

mode by the 09:01 way okay 09:02 DNA are our drive modes yes we'll talk 09:05 about that later we will but it's pretty 09:07 cool and another thing that this does 09:08 when you put into race mode is tell you 09:10 you'll ha ve a better experience in 09:11 manual mode please switch to that that 09:13 is the best message I've ever seen in a 09:15 vehicle other car companies are like 09:17 closed course do not try this in a 09:19 commercial Alfa Romeo in real life put 09:22 it in manual mode

literally for best 09:23 race experience we put it in manual is 09:26 there anything that you found weird 09:27 about the infotainment I heard a lot of 09:29 people not like it I however had no 09:31 issues with it besides no rewinding 09:33 satellite radio stations and no tuned 09:34 mix it does rewind satellite radio 09:36 stations live rewinding not like the 09:37 good kind I still enjoyed it but so 09:39 you've got your presets which you can 09:40 set up pretty easily 09:41 you've got apple

carplay Android auto 09:43 and your car plate goes all the way 09:44 across both of them well Android auto 09:46 cross not yet it is small but it doesn't 09:49 get in the way or anything which is very 09:50 nice exactly it looks nicely integrated 09:53 into the dash as well yeah and to get to 09:55 apple carplay or romaine you just click 09:56 up on the wheel twice and it's got a 09:58 scroll wheel which means it's a luxury 09:59 car like mercedes and BMW and the older 10:02 Audi's it's not a

touchscreen it's a 10:04 very simple infotainment that does all 10:05 the things I wanted to do pretty much 10:07 just like the Mazda without they're 10:08 winding the thing that I noticed is the 10:10 backup camera is not quite up to 10:12 Chrysler standards which kind of sucks 10:14 because the new Rams have like really HD 10:16 screens that is true and there's no 360 10:18 camera on this model no there isn't one 10:19 awful thing about the Alfa Romeo what's 10:21 that the turn signal stock

okay yeah 10:24 it's old BMW style where you have to 10:26 like half click it or full click it it's 10:28 very annoying it is annoying but it's 10:29 whatever and then I also n oticed that 10:31 unlike a lot of cars this one will show 10:33 every single digit of your speed while 10:35 you're flying through that's an FCA 10:37 thing that's a Chrysler thing which is 10:39 amazing because I don't think Mercedes 10:40 and BMW do that and it actually took me 10:42 a while to figure out how to

control 10:44 that screen yeah I was like moving these 10:46 knobs here on the steering wheel nope 10:47 it's on the right with the menu button 10:49 exactly and th ere's not much to display 10:50 there which is good because you know 10:52 sometimes people want to build you a car 10:53 like this is the best way to drive it 10:54 trust me you'll like it yeah and I do 10:56 when a lot and the thing that it does 10:59 display that's my favorite is the shift 11:01 light so the shift lights only show

up 11:02 when you're in race mode but they're 11:04 very cool on the sides 11:05 once you get high in the RPMs it turns 11:08 yellow then white and then it lights up 11:10 the words shift yeah it's really cool 11:12 pretty much when you see yellow and 11:13 white flashing shift and you're always 11:15 good but the transmission shifts so damn 11:17 quickly that you can just be late it'll 11:19 be fine still so now it's your turn to 11:21 drive and tell me why I'm correct when I 11:23 say this is

my favorite I see you ever 11:24 okay I will launch control it doesn't 11:26 have it okay but here we go lunch break 11:29 boost did you hea r that this is why it's 11:35 the best sounding vehicle ever it is and 11:37 it's really quick as well zero to 100 11:40 km/h in 3.9 seconds that is stupid fast 11:43 yeah it's honestly the perfect amount of 11:45 speed for me for an SUV this is really 11:48 really fast is it faster than the track 11:50 Hawk no okay but the track Hawk had lost 11:52 control

this doesn't yes exactly this 11:54 wasn't very aggressive off the initial 11:56 bite no because there is no actual 11:57 launch control all I did was hold the 11:59 brakes and gas the center so let's talk 12:01 about that engine and that power 12:02 delivery there is no lag in the entire 12:04 rpm bag Sarah 12:05 zero lag and it sounds amazing I love 12:08 this engine and I love this drivetrain 12:10 transmission next it is so damn good it 12:14 is the fastest shifting regular 12:16 automatic

I've ever driven this is my 12:18 favorite I like this more than a lot of 12:20 cars yeah I know but the transmissio n 12:22 specifically is just like click done 12:24 click done like it's just so fast you 12:27 know there's a lot of cars that have 12:28 manual paddle shifting yeah yeah I don't 12:30 feel like using them especially me 12:31 there's a lot of cars that I refuse to 12:33 use paddles for this is not one of them 12:35 no this is always manual all the time 12:37 it's just so enjoyable

I think that's 12:39 what makes the car for me I've been 12:40 driving this exclusively in race mode 12: 42 and having the best time of my life I've 12:45 had no reason to put it in any of the 12:47 other T&A 12:48 I have it obviously makes it a lot 12:50 quieter it makes it a lot more chill on 12:52 the throttle panel yeah which I don't 12:53 care about and then you can adjust your 12:55 suspension with the middle mode in race 12:56 and then I'll put you to mid but you 12:58 can't go too soft

unless you're in D 13:00 mode 13:00 yeah and overall the suspension is very 13:02 compliant but it is definitely more race 13:04 SUV than anything yeah when I was 13:06 driving through cliche corner earlier 13:07 with this thing it pulled through so 13:09 hard no understeer at all no exactly it 13:12 handles like a car like we say that 13:14 about Porsches this is now that level 13:16 it's like a push experience but more 13:18 exotic yeah without all the quality I 13:21 would say okay some of

the interior 13:23 things I don't like name them 13:25 I'm gonna get to that in a second but 13:27 first cliche corner that's way more 13:28 important and full send this thing does 13:31 have a tendency to oversteer which is 13:32 amazing you can hear the tires squealing 13:34 there's some body roll but not much 13:36 considering this a big SUV but overall 13:38 the steering feel I love this thing it's 13:40 so quick coming out of corners it's all 13:42 wheel drive 13:43 it is rear biased so it

feels slightly 13:45 more rear-wheel drive than anything I 13:47 abs olutely love how this thing drives 13:48 overall can't say enough good things 13:50 overall about the driving experience and 13:52 since you said you were driving in race 13:53 mode when you put into race mode it 13:54 pretty much turns everything off 13:56 automatically yeah that is also the only 13:57 way to turn off traction control so it's 13:59 the only way to have the full experience 14:01 I love that that's such a weird

thing 14:03 that no other manufacturer does so now 14:05 let's get to these modes DNA dynamic 14:08 natural and advanced efficiency they 14:11 came up with an interesting idea and 14:12 they let the creative team go out and 14:15 like come up with everything else just 14:16 find words that fit these letters and 14:18 they did it I'm okay with it 14:19 yes oh my race they're just like yeah 14:22 races race and the way that we get into 14:24 manual mode is just pushing the shifter 14:25 to the

left and it kind of reminds me of 14:26 BMWs they probably took the shifter and 14:28 the turn signal from BMW at one point I 14:30 just kept in probably they would over 14:32 stop yeah who knows okay we should get 14:34 to some tests for our first alpha eyes 14:36 or test yeah let's do this 14:37 I'm excited three two one yes good job 14:41 alpha and Chrysler okay small cup of 14:45 coffee test it's a fail it is a massive 14:48 fail it doesn't fit at all there's so 14:50 much room below this is

to start with a stee ring wheel no 15:20 I want to start with the backseat 15:22 entrance ok when you get in from the 15:25 backseat and all you see are these race 15:26 carbon fiber buckets you're just like 15:28 what is this crazy beast of a car fair 15:31 enough 15:31 they are very impressive looking it's 15:33 almost scary to be a passenger in the 15:35 back of this yeah I know what kind of 15:37 person needs this in an SUV my knees are 15:39 gonna go in took hard carbon fiber 15:41 there's

no going around that so now we 15:43 can talk about the steering wheel I just 15:44 want to get that out of the way no no we 15:46 might as well continue with the seats ok 15:47 these seats are ridiculously comfortable 15:50 but also very well bolstered I think 15:52 they're perfect fit for my wrecked back 15:54 ok can I talk about one thing that 15:55 bothers me about these seats I know what 15:57 it is so if you were not sitting there 15:59 in the passenger seat the seat belt 16:01 buckle
would be hitting the side of the 16:03 carbon fiber and it is so annoying but 16:05 it's also kind of cool because you've 16:07 got carbon fiber seats and you're always 16:09 reminded you always know that but it's 16:10 still annoying I would put a piece of 16:11 felt or something there if I was driving 16:13 this all the time by myself 16:14 ok let's talk about your steering wheel 16:16 steering wheel great size and it's the 16:18 optional carbon fiber one and it looks 16:20 amazing it's a

great steering wheel 16:21 there's enough fly off which is not fly 16:23 off it's not too small I'll do small 16:25 steering feel like I said earlier is 16:28 fantastic all the buttons are fantastic 16:30 everything's really clear there's no 16:32 gloss black it's matte 16:33 do you know what I like about the 16:34 steering wheel buttons what's that you 16:36 can program that to go through either 16:37 your favorites or go through any channel 16:39 you want it's probably some FCA 16:41 influence

there and then behind my 16:42 steering wheel are my gauges and I think 16:44 that's probably one of the worst parts 16:45 of this whole car I think they just look 16:47 so budgeted I don't think they look 16:48 budget I think they look plane and maybe 16:51 a tiny bit low res however they're very 16:54 simple and they're not cluttered they're 16:56 not cluttered at all and I appreciate 16:58 that all the important stuffs there no 17:00 need for fluff but if you compa red these 17:01 gauges to a

Mercedes or a Porsche these 17:03 look pretty bad well if you compare this 17:05 to the GL c63 we drove which was the 17:07 older style they're enough yeah yeah the 17:09 current 2019 17:10 all right the 20/20 is getting updated 17:12 how about the rest of this carbon fiber 17:14 friggin everywhere 17:15 okay the carbon fiber everywhere is 17:17 amazing it just completes the interior I 17:19 love it I like the green and white 17:21 stitching on the leather - I believe 17:23 that is an

option 17:24 it looks cool is very Alfa Romeo very 17:26 Italian but what I don't like is this 17:29 plastic trim below the carbon fiber and 17:31 then the climate controls that all looks 17:33 very cheap that's definitely the most 17:35 Chrysler looking part of this whole 17:37 vehicle exactly that part alone I just 17:39 can't stand and the gauges and that's it 17:40 deal breaker or no no absolutely not 17:42 I would take this over many thing s I 17:45 love driving this and I didn't think

I 17:48 would I know this is the shocker of the 17:50 year for both of us yeah yeah I just 17:52 need to get into more alphas in every 17:54 live stream when you guys asked us what 17:56 car impressed you the most that you were 17:57 shocked about this is gonna be my answer 17:59 now yeah this is so good so let's talk 18:02 about the price price is actually 18:03 reasonable to sort of in this category 18:05 hit me with it it starts at $95,000 and 18:08 this one is currently 114 thousand

nine 18:11 hundred and six dollars that 18:13 Quadrifoglio starts at nineteen correct 18:14 the Stelvio is like 50 something 67 okay 18:17 okay yeah 18:19 I've had more fun in this than I've had 18:22 in the other SUVs this is so fun to 18:24 drive very reasonably priced compared to 18:26 the competition 18:27 exactly it's right in that ballpark and 18:29 it competes with them on performance no 18:31 question and it beat s them on sound but 18:33 that's very subjective I'm going to 18:35 disagree

with the subjectiveness of it 18:36 and say that it is a fact that this 18:38 sounds better than all the competition 18:39 alright fair enough 18:40 and like I said earlier I would save 18:41 myself just over $8,000 to not get 18:43 myself those carbon ceramic brakes 18:44 they're not as bitey as you'd expect for 18:46 carbon ceramics exactly but I would 18:48 definitely get these seats for four 18:49 grand O h without a question so don't 18:51 forget to subscribe 18:53 get the notification valve
