[Music] on your uptake I was going for a drive [Music] [Applause] 2018 Kia stinger GT limited are you excited oh yeah I'm excited this is a sick car how long we've been waiting for this year's the Auto Show yeah actually like just less than a year all right so this is the all wheel drive version that we're getting in Canada yes we are not getting the rear wheel drive version sadface and we're not getting the four-cylinder version maybe we don't know yet they're gonna make a decision in spring

but we did get to drive some rear-wheel drive stingers for all our American fans as well and they were great they were amazing I'm gonna say it right away the rear wheel drive stinger is so much more fun than the all-wheel drive singer but to drift to drift yes yeah basically we turned in autocross course into a drift course for us yeah we're our jake was better drifting whatever obviously we have the all-wheel drive of Canada and it makes sense it's gonna be good in the winter it's gonna be

great in the winter there's actually not that much understeer in this it's really good for an all-wheel drive car we've been cruising through the mountains yeah there's some nice mountains out here yeah I guess this is where Matt Farah films always one day yeah yeah smoking tire yeah we're sorry so jealous Mia it handles the roads so well the suspension is really good we have active suspension we also have five different modes that we can choose between suspension steerin g all that kind of stuff

so custom is pretty cool because you can customize a lot of different settings everything your your steering feel your throttle input your sound enhancer which by the way this car sounds really good inside not that good outside have a listen but when all the Stingers were ripping around on that autocross course they sounded good it sounded really good I did lots of Tyre squeal feint and v6 twin-turbo sounds yes and if you want to hear what a bore Allah custom exhaust sounds like for the stinger

here you go and startup here's the real test [Music] that's good that's how it should sound like and if you want to hear what the West Coast Customs car sounds like here you go [Music] great job West Coast nice a lot ish it's an exhibit thanks hit me with the horsepower 365 horsepower and 376 torques how about the 4-cylinder 255 horsepower and 260 torques so in Canada we're getting the G key and the GT limited yes so they're basically fully loaded we only have the 3.3 liter twin-turbo v6 and

it's very good it's a very good engine there's not much lag you can't tell that it's turbo and the paddles work really well the transmission shifts relatively quickly it's not instant but it's good it's an 8-speed so this is a grand touring car a grand turismo as they like to call it so it's a GT it was developed on the Nurburgring which I've been on but it wasn't meant to be the fastest car it was meant to be a fast fun car that you co uld take on a long road trip and we're taking it through the

mountains and it's so good on the all-wheel drive models we actually have torque vectoring it is brake torque vectoring but it does help pull you through corners so there's not a lot of understeer it's really good well we were drifting the all-wheel drive one on the autocross course yes see for yourself good can't you drift this thing too but we were like really drifting in the rear-wheel drive yeah see for yourself and we a lso compared it to a bunch of competitors yeah so they benchmarked the

Audi a5 Sportback and the BMW 440 i Gran Coupe a and I think it was way better than the Audi and very close to the BMW how about the Porsche I think the Porsche was better but it's twice the price but suspension is very stiff on this little tight track we think the stinger compared to this I actually really like it both are really good but if the stinger is even half the car that this is for the price it's a real ly good buy speaking of price what's the difference between the Canadian GT price

and the American GT price the Canadians actually get it for Less but Canada's had a lot of pre-orders for the stinger yeah this is the first Kia that they've actually done pre-orders on and they sold a hundred and thirty of them on pre-orders which is pretty crazy for a Kia being all-wheel-drive this one can actually send up to a hundred percent of power to the back but it's only on launch so regularl y it's 82 the back and 22 the front in sport mode and custom mode and custom mode yep pilot in

the other modes it's like 50/50 yes it does have launch control yeah it does it actually launches you pretty hard yeah [Music] this actually has more horsepower than all of its benchmark competitors for less money it's not like mine blowing fast but it's it's good enough speaking of distribution this is actually 52% and 48% rear so it's actually really well balanced speaking of the rear it 's got a hatch it's a hatch and there's so much room for stuff yeah as a camera guy this is amazing yeah

actually really good all of our gear fits in it and it's so good you actually walk up to the trunk from the back and it just pops open so when you got all your camera bags you just don't even have to open the trunk yeah because you have the key in your pocket and speaking of keys look at this key it's like the coolest key ever yeah it looks like a grenade you're you're a bit of a stickler for looks how do you feel about this car what's your favorite part favorite parts all right okay

the taillights really they look so cool you know what I like them but I don't like that side taillight I do like that and especially on the non-red models it looks extra cool the vents in the front bumper pull air away from the front to make it more aerodynamic and the ones behind the wheel pull heat away yeah it's good I think these headlights are so good you don't need fog lights they were just cheeping it yeah we do have quad exhausts I love quad exhaust and we have a rear diffuser yeah it's

subtle the one on the SEMA car was like yeah next level I also really like the shape yeah like a big hood four doors yeah I really like the rear three-quarter view maybe the most I like the big rear fender I think it just makes it look fast it's a sport back I just like the big four-door sedans yeah I drove a four-door sedan this is actually one of three cars this year that I've driven that I would actually want to purchase legitimately no this is good the type are the Ford Raptor and the

stinger the headlights yeah the daytime running light mode looks so good yeah even with the full headlights on it's still pretty good too yeah and the front end we got the tiger nose grill with some honeycomb inserts yes and we have black chrome on the GT and GT limited I do like the black crow the base model does not have black chrome I hate chrome but I like black chrome yes black chrome is perfectly acceptable because I forget that it's actually Chrome yeah so we've got six colors for the

key stinger yeah this one's in red which is like the main color for the Kia stinger they've been presenting it red the whole time California red California at how fitting yeah thanks Kia for sending us out on this trip to California yeah this is unreal my favorite color though is ghost gray it's like a flat gray kind of like the A udi gray looks good though I think the Reds my favorite with white being my second favorite put some big white rims on that that thing would look at toy wheels yeah

wheels this comes with 19 do you like them yeah no I think they're really good yeah they're cool they're a weird design but they fit the car really well behind those wheels we got four pot Brembos in the front and then two piston in the back your favorite and on those wheels we have Michelin Pilot Sport for S tires so that's how you know they're serious about performance with this car they put really good tires on it and it helps so you're getting a lot for the price to be honest oh you are

legit I want to drive okay okay let's go hey Yuri yes launch Patrol [Music] Iori what do you think about the interior I love it man I knew I would I love Kia interiors they're so nice this car has the aluminum accents on the interior yeah the GT gets carbon fiber this has black seats and black leather every where yeah it's really soft nappa leather you can get white interior red interior my favorite so far brown interior that's only in the US model it's still my favorite and we've got some us

fans we're in the u.s. we're international true this is a US car this is a pre-production model the seats are really comfortable you can actually change the bolstering on the sides we got rear heated seats in Canada because it's always cold and we always want to be warm and heated and cooled fro nt seats the rear seats are really comfortable as well but I hit my head so for tall people it's not great if you're five foot eight it's fine yeah six foot one and a half not so much one and a half I

really like the infotainment we've got an 8 inch touchscreen in this one but in the GT you'll get a 7-inch touchscreen yes but you do get apple carplay and android auto with both yeah and you can rewind sound like radio stations which you guys may know is my favorite thing in the wor ld I will fully admit that it's the coolest thing ever now because when we were going to this trip Yury rewound a station when I got in the car and played Tupac exactly speaking of music and stations the system in

this car held real brand-new.first for us we never turned it to full because it was so loud gauge clusters yeah so you get g-force lap timer a lot of extra settings really easy to use nice analog gauges as well also with the infotainment I'd like to add that it's got a lo t of hard buttons tuning knob volume button I understand how everything works it's great that's got it it's got a custom button yeah it's just great and the steering wheel you got buttons there yeah D shape D shaped which is

great when we were drifting it's like I know what part of the wheel this is yeah I know where the wheel this is it's leather wrapped it feels great it says GT on it yeah that's cool we've got wireless charging but this one doesn't actually have it the final wi ll we have 360 cameras yeah this one doesn't actually have it but the final Canadian one well yes exactly this shares a lot of stuff of the g8 II but they told us it's not the same platform they built this from the ground up to the stinger

and heads-up display yeah it's nice you can fully customize all the colors and all the information that's in there just three two one yes perfect yeah yeah always delivers don't they yeah I feel like internally this is probably the GT more than it' s known as the stinger probably but it's also a stinger because the stinger is the coolest name ever yes and I really like the badge it looks like old-school 70s this car was designed by two German guys one who used to be at Audi yes one who used to be

at BMW BMW M division Albert Biermann so this is a German design car but it's South Korean so other than the badge this is basically a German car and it's it's nice the quality's there the handling is there the power is their interiors they're like oh the looks and the styling it's all there this is gonna make Kia yeah you know what I mean this is a such a big car for Kia like GameChanger Kia's put so much money and effort into marketing this car and I think they had to and I think they nailed

it well they did the drifting at SEMA yeah that was awesome yeah is there anything you don't like about this car I don't like the fake hood scoops I completely agree but they look great yeah but they should just be real yeah like the Type R had that hood scoop and it did something yes find something for to do yes add the decoration and make it functional later just cut a little hole in it yeah that way technically it does something and I won't be angry overall what do you think of the kia

stinger lives up to the hype I love it I would take this over a Plymouth Prowler yeah yeah yeah what this is so nice Matt I could put all my camera gear and I could probably replace the element with it I can make it my camera filming car we can go faster I wasn't expecting that this is this is like really nice it's really nice I would honestly think about replacing it from my own car for you for the Prowler and the element I'm shocked that's a bold statement and it's new and it looks cool that
