figure and 01:05 that's coming from a Ferrari derived 2.9 01:08 liter twin-turbo v6 so we've never 01:10 driven a Giulia Quadrifoglio but we 01:13 drove a Stalvey o Quadrifoglio and it 01:15 was my favorite SUV ever yeah so the 01:17 regular Julia and stell vo Quadrifoglio 01:19 have 505 horsepower and 443 pounds of 01:22 torque 01:22 so in this GTI they took a lot of the 01:25 weight out of it and added more power 01:26 yeah and there's two different versions 01:28 of th is car we'll get into
the specifics 01:30 after but there's a GTA and the GTA M 01:32 you're saying it completely wrong what 01:35 do you mean GT oh my god yeah oh wow I'm 01:38 not from Italy so but let's talk about 01:40 some specifics so it does have the same 01:41 8-speed auto transmission it is still a 01:44 rear-wheel drive but now it can do 0 to 01:46 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds ok back to the 01:49 name real quickly if it was a Canadian 01:51 car it would be like oh the GTA a i t 01:55 wouldn't be nearly as cool
that I've 01:56 told you yeah I know I get it 01:58 ok so the GTA is inspired by the 1965 02:02 version of the GTA which stands for Gran 02:05 Turismo Alicia Rita and then what does 02:07 the M stand for I'm not even gonna try 02:09 and pronounce it I'm just gonna let you 02:10 handle that one this time it stands for 02:12 modification but you know modificator so 02:15 there is a GTA version that's not the M 02:18 and that one has back seats where the M 02:20 version only has a cage in the back
and 02:23 there's a lot more differences between 02:24 the two models but we'll get to that a 02:25 little bit later and when I said Gran 02:27 Turismo alayzard Rita that means 02:29 lightened Gran Turismo so basically a 02:31 lightweight GT car so they're doing the 02:33 exact same thing they did in 1965 well 02:35 pretty close to that yeah and a lot of 02:37 manufacturers seem to be doing 02:38 things similar to this now kind of like 02:40 the Jaguar project eight and then 02:42 they're also
mentioning that they're 02:43 releasing this for their hundred and 02:44 tenth anniversary as well and because 02:46 they're only releasing five hundred of 02:48 these Alfa Romeo saying that they want 02:50 this to be collectible and valuable 02:51 becoming one of the most collectible and 02:55 valuable classic Alfa Romeo cars ever 02:58 built which kind of sucks to me because 03:00 I don't want it to be collectible I want 0 3:01 it to be on the streets everywhere like 03:03 people are gonna
store them and never 03:05 drive them yeah that part sucks because 03:07 I think this is now my dream sedan even 03:10 better than the Jaguar XE project eight 03:13 [Applause] 03:16 you know how much I love v8s but yes I 03:19 love the looks of this way more how much 03:22 I like six cylinders so for me this is 03:24 like right in line with what I like so 03:26 now let's get into all the stuff that 03:27 makes th is a GTA aka a lightweight grand 03:30 touring car 03:31 so they took out two
hundred twenty 03:32 pounds thanks to a carbon fiber 03:34 driveshaft a carbon fiber hood roof 03:36 front bumper front fenders rear fender 03:39 flares and even the seats they also use 03:41 more aluminum and even lexan for the 03:43 rear and side windows okay that's cool 03:46 racecar stuff yeah that's straight-up 03:48 racecar stuff and speaking of more 03:49 racecar stuff the actual body appearanc e 03:52 kit was made by sober engineering yeah 03:54 Formula one okay so there is a lot
of 03:57 cool carbon wings and like inlets and 03:59 stuff on the front the front end of the 04:01 GTA looks stunning and very fast 04:04 yeah the front end just looks so 04:06 aggressive and it does have active Aero 04:08 thanks to that partnership with Sal BER 04:10 and then on the sides we've also got a 04:11 really crazy side skirt that they 04:13 designed and they also have 20-inch 04 :15 Center lock wheels which Alfa Romeo 04:17 claims is the first time that center 04:19 lock wheels are
used on a sedan yeah and 04:21 those wheels are like the best pattern 04:22 that I like from Alfa Romeo I'd like 04:24 them a little bit more if they were the 04:26 lighter color like on the Stalvey oh 04:28 that we drove but they do look really 04:30 really good and they widen the front and 04:32 rear track so they actually gave it 04:33 wider fenders and you actually have to 04:35 have carbon-fiber fender flares to cover 04:37 the back wheels now yeah it's cool how 04:39 the back is dark and
the front is color 04:41 matched and then moving around to the 04:42 back we have a massive wing but that's 04:44 only on the GTA M on the GTA it's like a 04:47 much smaller carbon fiber wing yes but 04:49 even on the GTA M you still have normal 04:51 wing at the bottom blended all in it's 04:54 very type-r ish to me yeah and again 04:56 that's all functional becaus e that was 04:58 developed with their partnership with 04:59 Salva engineering yeah and then on the 05:00 GTA em I mean the GTI
modification you 05:04 get way bigger splitters at the very 05:06 bottom and on both versions you get a 05:08 titanium a crap of its exhaust which 05:10 looks amazing it's mounted in the center 05:12 now and they released a little clip 05:14 showing you exactly what it sounds like 05:15 and let's play that right now 05:24 and because that clip actually k ind of 05:27 sucked I went to a crap website 05:29 and here's what the titanium exhaust 05:30 sounds like for the regular Quadrifoglio 05:44 so
needless to say this is going to be 05:46 one of the best sounding cars ever I 05:48 definitely think so and that's 100% part 05:51 of the reason why I want this so badly 05:52 and like what did I say was my favorite 05:54 sounding SUV slash car of the last year 05:56 the so vo Quadrifoglio and I do not 05:59 change my mind at all these guys have it 06:01 figured out and then we still have a 06:03 Quadrifoglio badge on the fender 06:05 you know it's Quadrifoglio sorry 06:07 Quadrifoglio and then
we also have an 06:09 Auto Delta badge below that yeah the 06:12 double badge thing looks a little bit 06:13 weird but it's also kind of cool yeah 06:15 and I think Auto Delta was the shop 06:17 where they built the first GTA in 1965 06:19 I think it's cool how they have two of 06:21 those things right there it's a cool 06:22 litt le heritage throwback it just looks 06:24 a little odd when you see them both side 06:25 by side yeah but like when you see 06:27 badges and stuff tacked onto the
side 06:28 you know they mean business on a car 06:30 like that though kind of like a Volvo 06:32 with like eight badges down the side 06:33 exactly the more badges the more badass 06:36 and then we've also got an Italian flag 06:38 on the mirror which i think is very 06:40 suiting for the way they pronounce 06:41 ever ything and it's a carbon fiber 06:43 mirror so it looks pretty cool and all 06:44 the press footage shows it in red I'm 06:46 not sure what other colors you can get 06:48 it in but
there is an earlier rendering 06:50 of it in silver I think when you get the 06:52 chance to order one which everyone has 06:54 already done they get a one-on-one 06:56 consultation with Alfa Romeo to design 06:58 it the way they want honestly I kind of 07:00 hope that they pull a Ferrari and you 07:02 can only get it in that one red but like 07:04 I really like the blue as well the blue 07:06 is really nice as well but it would be 07:08 cool if they pulled a Ferrari move let 07:09 them do
whatever they want I think so 07:11 now let's move to the inside because 07:12 that's where the majority of the 07:13 differences are between the GTA and the 07:15 GT am modificator 07:17 yeah so we've got two carbon-fiber 07:19 racing seats a rear seat 07:21 delete we've got Alcantara where the 07:23 rear seats would be there's apparently 07:25 no interior door panels I think that's 07:27 only in the back because I see some in 07:29 the front and there's also a fabric door 07:31 pulls instead
of handles just like a 07:32 Porsche GT car and there's also a roll 07:34 bar on a six-point racing harness on top 07:36 of that you get a livery matched bail 07:39 open-faced helmet with a slot for the 07:41 helmet holder behind the driver side and 07:44 you also get a full racing s et by 07:45 Alpinestars 07:46 a race suit gloves and shoes as well as 07:49 personalised goodwill car cover and a 07:51 driving course from Alfa Romeo driving 07:53 Academy did you see the way the car 07:55 cover
actually looks when it 07:56 spread out on the car it looks exactly 07:58 like the car it's the best and then 08:00 there's also a fire sting shirt back 08:02 there which is the tell-tale sign for a 08:04 badass car yeah any car that comes with 08:06 a fire extinguisher f rom the factory you 08:08 know you're gonna have a good time in 08:09 and then if you get the non modification 08:11 with the backseat 08:12 they mentioned in all the footage that 08:14 it's meant for you to take your kids
to 08:16 school like that was one of the main 08:18 points they made about not getting the M 08:20 versions and the GTR thought to bring 08:23 your children the new generation of 08:25 Alfie stick to school with four full 08:28 seats no roll bar lower rear win g and a 08:32 shorter splitter so realistically there 08:34 is no chance in hell that you would get 08:36 the non M version right well no for me 08:38 if I could get this I get the crazy 08:39 version you know funny would be to
open 08:41 the back doors and just see no seats but 08:43 even if you had kids to drive to school 08:45 I probably tell them to take the bus or 08:47 something because like come on yeah 08:49 exactly you kind of have to so back to 08:50 this interi or I want to talk about these 08:52 paddle shifters they are column-mounted 08:54 which we do like because it feels exotic 08:56 but we do prefer steering wheel-mounted 08:58 paddles nope I prefer this okay so looks 09:02 like you're a changed his mind
but I 09:03 started researching these on the website 09:05 and it says that the julia has column 09:07 mounted aluminum paddle shifters and I 09:09 quote inspired by our Formula One race 09:11 cars the column mounted aluminum paddle 09: 14 shifters so they said inspired by their 09:18 race cars column-mounted their race cars 09:20 are definitely steering wheel-mounted 09:21 moving on with the rest of the interior 09:23 we've got the standard infotainment 09:25 which apparently has been updated
in 09:26 2020 for all giulio models but it's 09:29 already had apple carplay and android 09:30 auto and we've used it on the stove vo 09:32 yeah I totally loved it in the stell vo 09:34 remember it was just you plug it in an d 09:35 everything loads up right away I'm very 09:37 excited to see the infotainment in that 09:39 car which I will never get to drive and 09:41 then we've got Alcantara on the upper 09:43 part of the dash we've also got on the 09:44 glovebox and then we have carbon
fiber 09:46 in the center console and lastly it does 09:48 have GTA stitched into the dash which is 09:51 also awesome and it also has a launch 09:53 control mode which I should probably 09:54 mention because we do love launch 09:56 control and by the way the GTA and the 09:58 GTA M are both fully street-legal yeah I 10:00 just say it the proper way 10:01 GTI GTI M modificator about the 10:07 you know I think I think that's what is 10:08 that 10:08 more difficult so I 10:10 see we can't tell you
how it drives but 10:11 according to the press footage it can 10:13 drive really sexually at a very low rate 10:15 of speed that is that what it said or is 10:17 that what you saw that's all I saw fro m 10:19 the press footage but the press photos 10:21 showed it drifting with flames coming 10:22 out so there's that but isn't that photo 10:25 of it drifting didn't they just 10:26 Photoshop a bunch of spoilers and stuff 10:28 onto a regular Giulia Quadrifoglio it 10:30 kind of looks like they did
that so 10:32 probably and then ask for the steering 10:34 wheel engages we do have the start 10:35 button on the steering wheel which we 10:37 really liked in the stell vo and the 10:39 g auges are similar to the Giulia 10:40 Quadrifoglio and the still vo 10:41 Quadrifoglio and I think the stell vo 10:43 had the best ship lights ever remember 10:45 how easy it was to see when it was time 10:47 to shift so whoever has this is gonna 10:49 have a great time driving it and in 10:51 terms of drive
modes it looks like we 10:52 have the same selector so you pretty 10:54 much just want to be sitting in race 10:55 mode anyways because that's the loudest 10:56 exhaust mode fo r the valve exhaust so 10:58 back to the drivetrain real quick this 10:59 is rear-wheel drive correct yeah it's 11:01 only available in rear-wheel drive only 11:03 with the 8-speed auto there's no manual 11:05 I know how cool it would have been so 11:06 with all that other way not that it 11:08 matters because we can't buy
one anyways 11:09 and no one else can 11:10 what's the price I actually don't have 11:12 the price for my favorite sedan in the 11:14 world because they haven't rel eased the 11:15 price you pretty much just have to 11:17 contact them and say you're gonna buy 11:18 one and if you're one of the 500 lucky 11:20 people they'll tell you the price yeah 11:21 but all the lucky people who are 11:22 probably gonna get one have already 11:23 called in and had one allocated to them 11:25 a while ago how
much do you think these 11:27 things are gonna go for because I think 11:29 they'll be like 300 thousand us well the 11:30 project eight is around $200, 000 so I 11:33 think this will be pretty much in line 11:34 with it so then if you could only pick 11:36 one this or the project eight 11:40 [Music] 11:43 which one would you pick because I know 11:45 you love your v8 I'm 100% team Julia on 11:48 this one because I think this Ling just 11:50 looks stunning and I would actually pick 11:51 it for
its looks over the looks of the 11:53 XE not even just because of the engine 11:55 just the looks man and since I'm a 11:58 six-cylinder fan boy I would obviously 12:03 rather take the Alfa 12:06 and I love all the Italian ax sin it's 12:09 oh for sure IMT and Alfa Romeo well let 12:11 us know which one you guys would pick 12:12 the Alfa Romeo GTI or the GTI M or the 12:16 XT project eight and let us know what 12:18 you think of this format which cars 12:20 should we virtually review next
