[Music] i'm yuri i'm jacob we're going for a drive 2021 porsche macan gts horsepower and torque 375 horsepower 383 pound-feet of torque from a twin-turbo 2.9 liter v6 so first thing i want to get into is the makan hierarchy so there's the makan makan asamikan gts and then the makan turbo yes so this is just below the turbo slots in that sweet spot of the porsche lineup okay what does gts stand for gran turismo sport yuri oh i play that video game yes we do okay so the gran turismo sport the

gts and the macan turbo both have the same displacement engines but turbo has like way more power yeah so i feel like you could probably get an aftermarket tune for this void your warranty but get the same horsepower as a turbo and then the macan s engine i feel is like similar displacement for six cylinder but not the exact and then the macan is just a four cylinder yes and a lot of these engines are shared with audi as well okay and what i want to know from you guys ahead of time i f you have a

macan if your family has a macan if you know someone with a macan which makon did they get and why didn't they get one of the other ones like did somebody get a turbo because they needed to spend the most or did somebody just get a basement because they're like this is fine yeah and i mentioned the tuning thing because i actually know two people that got mcon s's but then tuned them up to like basically gts levels did they also get a g and a t badge no they did not oh no they're they're the d

badge types they're the real automotive enthusiasts so price no option which one would you take i mean obviously but like this is really really good yeah i think the best part is it handles like a car for an suv yeah and this is almost like a hot hatch like i think they're going to lower these in like 20 years and they can buy for cheap like just dump them put big wheels on them they're going to be like the um honda and uh acura suvs the zdx or whatever but th is does have air suspension and

it does ride quite low and it also rides very comfortably you can drop it so quickly you click that button like right away and we do have two levels of adaptive suspension this is fantastic suspension so comfortable for daily driving and it does rip pretty hard as well yeah as an automatic i'm in normal mode seventh gear flooring it [Music] two gears not like lighting fast but i'm sure if i push my sport response button okay it didn't make that muc h of a difference but we do have the

sport response button we do have sport plus and i advise just driving and support support plus and then we get backfires only in sport and sport plus so if i there we go and it sounds really good from the outside we should listen to it from the outside my favorite part about the sound is like how high pitch and raspy it is i think you know than me liking the six cylinder thing yeah it is a really good tone though and the seven speed pdk is pretty much the gold standard for any transmission and

we did drive the previous gen gts but we've also driven the current gen s and the current gen turbo this is 15 horsepower more than the previous gen gts so realistically we'd probably have to drive them back to back to like feel a difference yeah but differences on the inside from what i noticed the most is that we pretty much only just have a bigger infotainment yeah the new style one and that's it but i think that's a huge improvement from like a three years ago porsche because this is better

yes it is and we still do retain the hard buttons which we love and then looks wise the differences from the old gts even though we've already driven new macons we've got the taillights that go all the way across and then that's about it yeah that you can visually see there are everything has basically been changed just enough but like visually that's the most impact and then it seems like all the gts's have the little black part on the door at the bottom yes but you can also get that paint

match because porsche lets you basically do anything and we do have gts written here which you don't have to so with all the general macan stuff and me talking about some of the changes on the inside and outside from the last generation gts even though we've driven the new generation macan i think it's your turn to drive okay so the first thing that i'd like to talk about is these lovely wheels they l ook so good yeah no they're really nice yeah especially for winters like this is awesome and

then what would be the continental recommended tire for the gts the kante sport contact six and these wheels just look so good when you drop the car exactly because it has that like hot hatch stance i'm telling you man they're gonna dump these in the future well there's already like aftermarket mods and stuff yeah but when these things are like dirt cheap yeah anyone can do it right it'll it's kind of like a gla like the previous january it's like a hatch but not but it is like there's no way

these things aren't going to get dirt cheap you know what i mean yeah eventually they probably will like cayenne's or dirt cheap yeah i looked at buying one like panamera's three grand for and then the body lines of this just like all the other ones it just looks good it looks small suv porsche ish yeah it's a great looking suv okay front end we've got the headlights that if yo u have them all the way fully on you get that x style when they're all the way but it's not like the perfect style

of x-style headlights there's so many weird little porsche headlights i don't know which ones are the best yeah these are the optional headlights at least one of them one headlight or both headlights one of the options and then when you pop the hood you can see the motor it looks really cool and you got the holes for the lights that's right you can stick your head t hrough them but we're not going to do that because we did that before and then on the website when you configure it i feel like they

really make that bottom lip very prominent but in real life it's kind of just like blends in and speaking of the website dude you can get this in mamba green with green wheels oh my the color match wheels why isn't everybody doing that why like yeah that's so cool that's pretty next level so now backhand i'd like to start with the exhaust tips because th is is the gts you do get the sport exhaust from the factory you don't even have to option it and it looks and sounds great top notch then we

already talked about the tail lights and says porsche there so overall looks wise cool we've already talked about it twice because the macan s and the turbo kind of just looked like this as well and then we also did the macan yes we always think this is a great look we've done so many macans yes and no mustang gt350s or focus rs's or ecoboost mustangs for that reason or v6 camaros no there's a lot of weird stuff we haven't done yeah thank you thank you porsche for the macan a lot of my cons and

before we talk about the inside i'm just going to give it a little rip a little bit of a downshift and [Music] so responsive so enjoyable to drive like that transmission is so good they kill it every single time and from a start 0 to 100 this can do that in about 4.7 seconds if you do get the sport chrono package so now moving on to the interior the best part is we've got the old style porsche attack we don't have like the one in the new 911s this is the best it is it is crystal clear i love it

there's nothing blocking my gauges with the steering wheel fantastic but it's cool seeing your torque split in the gauges because you can see that it's mostly rear wheel drive and then when it sends a slip it'll send a little bit more to the front but yeah you can definitely just you modulate the way that you want this thing to turn with your foot which is cool and in winter it'll be like a lot of fun for those like snowy parking lots exactly it's a porsche it's a portion yeah but you can tell

that there's something going on we do have the porsche torque vectoring differential which i feel like if you're getting a car like this you do really want to option and you know what i like more about this than the new tycons what's that not that there wasn't i think i actually know i needed to adjust the temperature so i did that and then i wanted to change where the vent pointed and i did it with my head i was like wow yeah the future is here i feel blessed to be able to do that with

my hand and for those who don't know the tycoon you have to control through the infotainment to point the vents it's a total nightmare just like tesla as well and everyone's doing that so man these trends so i want to talk about this infotainment screen how do you enjoy using the really small ap ple carplay i don't actually like it i see your complaints now like the icons on the left are really small it's getting phased out with all the new gen stuff like in the tycon but like for right now it

kind of sucks but it's still okay yeah but unfortunately there is no android auto in porsche's yet and then there's this little diamond button on the steering wheel it's a shortcut button i had a little panic attack as i couldn't find where in the settings to do it i checked the manu al so you need to go to vehicle settings in the right bubble next to the right of your gauge yes and then click there and then go through there where you can program it which is fine i see your confusion after you

looked into the manual because there's also vehicle settings in the infotainment yeah and then there's still no way to toggle through your favorites but i found a way that i like to toggle through my serious xm channels now so if i go to that little wheel and go down to y our radio click and now i can go up and down through my list so if i just stick to six seven eight nine ten it's pretty perfect and does it rewind it does rewind which is nice that is good and then another thing that i

noticed about this you cannot change any of your settings while driving right what were we driving the euro spec targa yes that lettuce everything that's right europe yeah canada but then there's weird stuff like we actually don't have the gas particular filte r on this car that europe does on this car in europe so this actually sounds better in north america yeah i mean i think it's a good trade-off yeah yeah i'll take the better sound over them being able to customize stuff while driving so to

talk about the steering wheel and the steering feel steering feel is great just like it is in every other porsche and the steering wheel itself has great paddles just like it does in every other porsche we do have the old style kind of like really metallic shifter and i really like that and then we also have our drive mode dial on the steering wheel and then we still have a regular shifter which is really nice to just be able to like put it into manual yes up is up and down is down but

it's still really nice to have a regular shifter yeah i know it's good it's good and then these seats are really comfortable so well bolstered these are the optional sport seats yeah and they say gts on the headrest which i like i'm a s ucker for any kind of stitching and then back seat room just like in every other macon not very good quite cramped but you do get red seat belts if you option them which i believe is a zero dollar option at least for these carmine red because yes this is

carmine red on the outside okay and if i was to push the button below the rear wiper to pop open the trunk and i wanted to do the box test how many boxes would we fit box test one two three four five six seven eight sorry to the rest of our box s patrons who can't fit in this vehicle welcome to devlin m our newest boxes member and your name here which is actually camille and kaden and the store ran out of white tape sorry you're gonna get a brand new box and that's eight and nine no nine

and ten visor test yeah let's find out three two one fail okay and then the cup holder test the right side is higher than the left side because it's got that extra little extra lift and it will fit a small cup on the right side but i don't like having cups back here then you got to like reach your hand back to pick stuff up and i just like having cups in front of the shifter but it's not like yeah change anything now exactly because then it would be blowing directly on it porsche doesn't really

give a about your cup they do not prioritize cops but they all still kind of just work yeah yeah and then as for technology we got a reverse camera forward camera 360 camera it's a little warpy but th e top down view is pretty okay and then we do have a lane keep assist we have a lane change assist yeah it pretty much if you run out of your lane it'll like brand bear but it won't do any actual like wheel movement yeah so you have to option porsche's inno drive to have kind of like lane

centering like we had in the ticon that's right yeah which we liked yes it was very good so i think that's pretty much everything with the macan gts we've now driven every single macan of this generation yeah which except the base didn't know we did the blue one no that was an s didn't we drive a white one that was a cayenne bass all right whatever let's get to the price this one starts at 79 200 canadian and it's optioned out to 102 590 i mean it's really fast it is but it's not as fast as like

a glc 63 which would be comparable in price but i feel like porsche has more prestige yes and then if you need to have an suv because you have like kit stuff or whatever and ne ed more storage yeah and it's still really comfortable like this is a fantastic overall package and it's definitely one of my favorites in the segment and the sound and the shift just there's so much good stuff about this and since it's the gran turismo sport it's definitely in the sweet spot okay this compared to the

pricing of the turbo and the s okay so the turbo that we drove was optioned out to 117 000 and the s was optioned out to only 85 000 which is quite a good value com pared to this i feel like this is quite highly optioned which kind of skews where it is in comparison to the turbo i think i think i would go like 17 extra grand for a turbo that's for rich people that might just be like pocket change it could be but like if you stick to the base price this is this is a bargain almost yeah you get
