back into these seats 01:11 all right so this is 01:13 the new m4 there is a all-wheel drive 01:16 version of this car this year and 01:17 you can also get the rear wheel drive 01:19 version in manual 01:21 but only in non-competition and that 01:23 goes the same for all the m3s as well 01:25 yes so the all-wheel drive one will be 01:26 available later this year and that will 01:28 have a disconnectable 01:29 front drive shaft basically so it will 01:31 be 100 rear wheel drive there will be

a 01:34 drift mode but speaking of drift mode 01:36 yuri we have a feature called 01:37 m drift analyzer okay you turn your 01:39 traction all the way off and then you 01:41 get a slider from zero to ten 01:42 ten is the most amount of like stability 01:44 doing stuff zero is 01:46 no stability so you can just fully drift 01:48 it's meant to ease you into your 01:50 drifting learning and lucky for you guys 01:52 we actually fully tested out the m 01:54 drift analyzer mode while drifting

the 01:56 hell out of this thing 01:57 and spoiler alert it drifts really well 01:59 so don't forget to subscribe 02:00 to the straight pipes drift scription 02:02 break ooh drift scription break i think 02:04 that's the first one we've had 02:05 okay so we were ripping it around it 02:06 pretty much analyzes how long you can 02:08 hold the drift what your maximum angle 02:10 is 02:10 and then gives you a star rating at the 02:11 end of it yeah so we both got four four 02:13 and a

half 02:14 five stars i think i currently hold the 02:16 only five star drift according to 02:18 twitter according to journalists at this 02:19 time oh there it is 02:21 best drift five stars but his speed was 02:25 obviously a lot faster because his drift 02:26 was the same distance above four seconds 02:28 yes his being the guy from the uk kind 02:30 of known from drifting 02:32 yeah so we tried our best yeah we did 02:34 pretty well though and t his car drifts 02:36 so easily yeah and we did

try to do 02:38 those big donut drifts 02:40 in like halfway traction on and it was 02:42 really no point like just turn it all 02:44 the way off 02:45 20 second drift 204 meters 17 degrees 02:49 was my most angle 02:50 right on so i had five stars but i don't 02:52 remember what everything else was you 02:53 gotta go again okay and then i'll go 02:54 again 02:55 okay and then you go again okay and then 02:57 i'll go again that sounds g ood 02:59 so this is traction control on 03:07 but maybe

when you're on a track and 03:09 going fast for like high speed turns 03:10 it's different and when you're on the 03:12 road and stuff like that possibly on a 03:13 track mdm mode is 03:14 fantastic in this car yeah but it's 03:17 really not the end of the world if you 03:18 just drive around with it all the way 03:20 off you just got to be a little careful 03:21 but it will kind of like let loose 03:22 yeah a lot but i mean that's kind of why 03:24 you buy an m4 this thing is so quick

so 03:27 much torque the power comes on so quick 03:28 that on the highway 03:30 if you floor it it will get a little 03:32 skittish and squirmy 03:33 and we are on winters right now yes we 03:35 are and shout out to bmw they did offer 03:37 us the actual summer tires 03:39 but it is a little too cold today so we 03:40 opted for the winters but thank you bmw 03:42 for actually offering us 03:43 a different set of wheels so we would 03:45 maximize our experience in this car 03:47 and to actually

get into the drift 03:48 analyzer you hold your off button all 03:50 the way 03:50 and then it'll prompt you to do the 03:52 amdrift analyzer and then from there you 03:54 click start 03:54 session it'll show everything it's very 03:56 intuitive yeah and even if you get into 03:58 the m drift analyzer without turning off 04:00 your traction you can actually activate 04:01 it which will then prompt you to turn it 04:03 off your traction which is really cool 04:04 then you can adjust the slider on

the go 04:06 yeah it's a very good system like yeah i 04:08 think the 04:09 future of the year yeah probably i think 04:11 tire companies are going to love this 04:13 feature 04:14 shout out continental for sponsoring the 04:16 straight pipes and just so all of you 04:18 know the reason i'm driving this one 04:19 first specifically is because i love 04:21 everything about this 04:22 m4 mor e jacob loves everything about the 04:24 current m3 marks if he still kind of 04:26 doesn't like that

grille 04:27 and i rip that plate off first thing 04:29 because i don't like that front plate 04:30 one bit 04:31 i will give it to you it looks better 04:32 without the front plate okay i want to 04:33 talk about a couple things 04:34 that i've experienced while driving this 04:36 that are like really my vibe go for it 04:38 these seats this interior the way these 04:40 seats match the outside if you see 04:42 somebody 04:43 in this car it just looks so amazing the 04:45 looks i totally agree i

will get into 04:47 the specifics of what the seats feel 04:49 like a bit later though 04:50 but look how awesome jacob looks sitting 04:51 in the seat with that real ford rafter 04:53 behind him 04:54 damn i do look pretty cool that's a good 04:55 raptor next thing is this color 04:58 we've got sao paulo yellow even though 05:00 this is kind of like an acid green i 05:02 would definitely call this 05:02 more of a green it is such a cool color 05:05 i used to have a camaro in this

color 05:06 kind of mine was like more lime green 05:08 but like having a two door lime greenish 05:10 car again rear wheel drive is like 05:12 it's a little faster than your camaro 05:13 right yeah it doesn't have six it 05:15 automatically a lot faster yeah 05:17 well this is also automatic i just i 05:19 like having a lime green car i think 05:21 it's so cool such a cool color choice 05:23 for the launch colors with the magic 05:24 seats again they did kill it with the 05:26 watch 05:26 okay

and then in this car while driving 05:28 it around obviously same old bmw 05:30 interior we always like 05:31 but we've got new paddles on the 05:32 steering wheel which are a lot taller 05:34 yes and we've previously complained 05:35 about bmw paddles so many times that i 05:37 think we got tired of complaining about 05:39 them but bmw obvio usly listened 05:41 because look at these new and improved 05:42 paddles they're carbon fiber and they're 05:43 massive yeah they're finally better

than 05:45 amg paddles yeah for sure they are or at 05:48 least equal to the only thing i don't 05:49 like about them is that they got these 05:50 like bumps on the back but i know you 05:52 like that okay let me give a little rip 05:53 through cliche corner your traction's 05:55 off 06:00 how's that this thing is like a rocket 06 :02 like we already showed some drifting 06:04 but just going normal through roads it's 06:06 so fast anywhere you point it just goes 06:07 like right away 06:08 i feel

like at one with this for a rear 06:11 wheel drive car 06:12 this is definitely a very good driver's 06:13 car and i will flat out say this is a 06:15 better driver's car 06:16 than the last generation of the c63 or i 06:18 guess the current generation which 06:19 they're refreshing right now except that 06:21 one laun ches harder for rear wheel drive 06:23 than this does 06:24 yes at least it feels like that plus we 06:25 did drive in the summer so 06:27 yeah exactly they technically do

have 06:29 the exact same zero to 100 time which is 06:30 3.9 seconds 06:31 i just i just feel like bmw launch 06:33 controls for rear wheel drive aren't as 06:34 hard as 06:35 mercedes launch controls for rear wheels 06:39 [Music] 06:44 but the vibe of this compared to that 06:46 m2cs which one car of the year so that 06:48 one was manual 06:48 you get some points i feel like i could 06:50 go way faster in this but i might be 06:52 able to slide 06:53 that a little bit more and have more

fun 06:55 yeah this is definitely faster it's got 06:56 more power 06:57 but i would definitely take the m2cs 06:59 over this no question everything about 07:00 the way that it looks handles 07:02 drives everything about that car i would 07:03 take over this i just 07:05 i would love to have the current launch 07:08 m4 07:08 at the time instead of the m2c if i get 07:10 the m4 in manual 07:12 compared to that m2cs in manual right 07:14 now in 2021 i would take this 07:16 so i'm gonna lastly

touch on the looks 07:18 real quick before you drive and get into 07:19 all the cool techy stuff 07:21 the front end has really cool sculpted 07:23 hood which really really pops when you 07:25 look at the front in the right lighting 07:26 like that is a really cool shape yeah 07:28 a nd it kind of reminds me of the new 07:30 gt3 hood from the side the m3 is a wide 07:33 body at the back but this is kind of 07:34 different we've got 07:36 two body lines that come across they're 07:37 kind of

stacked i've seen these 07:39 four series on the road not m4s because 07:42 obviously i'm the first one in canada to 07:43 drive it 07:44 but i saw so the normal four series and 07:46 like those body lines pop 07:47 super hard and i had one come up behind 07:49 me on the road with the big grille 07:51 and it also looked really cool in my 07:52 rear view the m3 definitely looks better 07:54 than this car 07:55 in every direction possible fully 07:57 debatable between you we're like

full 07:59 opposites on this car yeah we haven't 08:01 even really mentioned that grill yet 08:02 the grill looks fine in real life you 08:04 get more used to it it's great 08:05 definitely looks better without a front 08:07 plate 08:07 agree and i think the t he whole look of 08:10 the m4 08:10 and the m3s in general look better like 08:13 this instead of the m performance stuff 08:14 which 08:15 does look kind of tacky but which would 08:16 look way cooler ripping on a racetrack 08:18 i do

agree that the m versions all look 08:20 better than the non-m versions like not 08:22 the 08:22 m sport version but the ones with like 08:23 the weird quad exhaust is like a half 08:25 paint 08:26 yeah well that and like this grill 08:27 compared to an m440i grill compared to a 08:29 base grille 08:30 this one looks the best out of the ugly 08:32 choices okay and then back end we've got 08:35 normal four series tail lights which are 08:37 new but they do look 08:38 fantastic we got a little

carbon fiber 08:40 wing up there it is like wide bodied at 08:42 the back and then we've got this black 08:44 skateboard they call it that goes all 08:45 around the bottom i think that looks 08:47 really good to like make it look 08:48 narrower and 08:49 faster and the exhaust tips look really 08:51 cool let's take a listen to the outside 08:53 [Music] 08:56 and the exhaust sound sounds kind of all 08:58 right it's there's some good bubbles and 09:00 stuff there it's nice you can bang

it 09:01 off the liners we do have an exhaust 09:03 button which we'll talk about later 09:04 and it'll definitely sound better than 09:06 an upcoming 4 cylinder c63 i've been 09:09 hearing about 09:10 okay wheels wheels are pretty good 09:12 considering these are winters but the 09:13 actual competition spec 09:14 look awesome yeah you can see it in the 09:16 gauge cluster and in the infotainment 09:18 because they actually show 09:19 the proper colored one which is great 09:21 and i kind of

wish we had those wheels 09:22 on it 09:23 and what would be the continental 09:24 recommended tire the extreme contact 09:26 sport 09:27 so obviously we can both agree that the 09:28 m4 looks better than the m3 so before i 09:30 let you say anything else it's your turn 09:32 to drive and we'll just leave it at that 09:33 let's go jacob m3 looks better launch 09:35 control 09:36 [Music] 09:42 oh my god that's fast holy but if it's 09:45 not super punchy off the line but it's 09:47 starting in

seconds yeah it's very 09:48 torquey i think it's starting in second 09:50 to give you a better zero to one hundred 09:52 times 09:52 yeah sneaky 09:53 [Music] 09:59 okay so i'm gonna hit m1 which is jacob 10:02 cliche corner mode so that is 10:04 mdm sport plus for the engine sport for 10:07 the chassis 10:08 comfort for everything else and the 10:09 reason for sport being my chassis 10:11 selection 10:11 is that is nurburgring mode they have 10:13 tuned this car to have 10:15 sport as the

nurburgring mode so cliche 10:17 corner being my local nurburgring 10:19 there is a lot of elevation and stuff 10:21 here exactly it's not just a flat track 10:23 where being on all sport plus might be 10:25 the best option 10:26 that's exactly it so cliche corner and 10:28 regular public roads 10:30 definitely better for comfort and sport 10:31 but bmw does a very very good job 10:34 of their dampers in every car and this 10:36 is no exception i thought you said the 10:38 xxm was too

stiff 10:39 that was one exception okay cliche 10:40 corner let's see what we can do 10:42 downshift through these lovely paddles 10:44 and 10:44 yep oversteer city i i love dr iving this 10:47 thing like 10:48 i'm in mdm mode and it allows for so 10:50 much more slip angle than i think 10:52 previous generations did and it's just 10:54 this this is great and steering and 10:56 comfort is just right sport is also fine 10:58 but this is also the first car that they 11:00 allow you to change the

braking in the 11:02 infotainment 11:03 so i kind of also prefer comfort the 11:05 only difference being that you have to 11:06 press the brakes a little bit harder in 11:08 comfort mode and then if you get the 11:09 manual version which is awesome because 11:10 mercedes doesn't have manuals anymore 11:12 you can also put like uh gear shift 11:14 assist which is auto rev matching 11:16 through that setup screen as well yeah 11:17 so you can actually turn it off 11:19 independently of having

traction fully 11:21 off which they did in previous 11:22 generations 11:23 another reason why this might be as good 11:25 if not better than the m2cs 1 1:27 well they're fixing things here and 11:28 there it's cool okay in manual mode go 11:30 through gear and hit those shift lights 11:32 downshift and send 11:34 yeah they're very very good so they come 11:37 in yellow into red and they kind of 11:38 start flashing red when you need to 11:39 shift and it's really hard to miss

okay 11:41 they 11:42 are in your road mode they are in your 11:43 sport mode and your track mode 11:45 i turn off the head-up display right 11:46 away because i feel like it's too big it 11:48 takes up too much space i don't like it 11:50 you don't need a head-up display in this 11:52 car no and the driving position of this 11:53 is also fantastic 11:55 it kind of reminds me of porsche driving 11:56 positions because it's very very low 11:59 with these super buckety seats and i 12:01 would also

like to talk about 12:02 how much i hate and also like these 12:04 seats okay this is the carbon fiber 12:06 buckets yes part of like the track 12:08 package or whatever 12:09 so they look cool first of all they 12:11 bolster the hell out of you 12:12 second of all they feel comfortable as 12:15 long as you don't move 12:16 in any position so if i want to readjust 12:18 my leg 12:19 they are so hard on the sides of the 12:21 bolsters and including this 12:23 um carbon fiber rooster holder

because i 12:27 can't say the other word 12:29 uh i don't like that okay and being 12:31 smaller five foot eight-ish 12:33 it's fine i fit perfectly it's got 12:35 inflatable bolsters which is cool and 12:37 heated siege which i was surprised that 12:38 this would have that no cooled seats but 12:40 there is one crazy cool feature that you 12:42 can actually remove these 12:44 yeah you have to unscrew them and then 12:45 you can have your helmet on the track 12:47 and it's a little bit more

comfortable 12:48 how many times do i complain that the 12:49 helmet is put like seats pushing my head 1 2:50 forward not that i'm like a race car 12:51 driver or know anything about that but 12:53 like 12:53 you know it's cool that they're ready 12:55 for that cut to a couple clips of us 12:56 drifting 12:57 in a circle in a parking lot yeah it's 12:59 been showing that the whole time okay 13:00 okay cut to a couple clips of us 13:01 drifting in portugal with the m340i okay 13:04 okay 13:04 so

then bmw loves us so much that they 13:07 also left 13:08 the little plastic on the seats so are 13:10 you ready for the peel scription break 13:11 yeah let's send it to the peel scription 13:13 break 13:19 asmr kind of stuff but you know 13:21 everybody likes peeling stuff off yo 13:23 the funny stuff is when you go to a 13:24 place that had a sticker on it for like 13:26 10 years 13:26 you're like yeah i'm gonna be the one to 13:28 do this i don't care yeah but i have 13:29 noticed that when

you're reaching for 13:31 the dead pedal 13:32 i have to push my leg hard agains t this 13:33 thing and even hitting the brakes my 13:35 right foot has to hit this middle thing 13:36 but it's not the end of the world and i 13:37 wouldn't trade these seats 13:38 to have a better experience i 13:40 potentially would but you actually fit 13:42 behind yourself in here 13:43 yo yeah nope i fit behind myself in the 13:44 m2cs i fit behind myself here 13:46 i do not fit behind myself in here

yeah 13:48 it's uh that's how it is i'm not even 13:50 going to show you guys what it looks 13:50 like because my back hurts right now 13:52 yeah not from these seats just uh my bad 13:54 back gang yeah all right what's next 13:55 jacob okay active m differential 13:57 this has that same differential that we 13:59 loved in the m2cs that's part of why we 14:01 like this so much 14:02 it just it gives you so much confidence 14:04 in how this feels all the time yo i feel 14:07 like i could go so

fast without slipping 14:09 up but having that little bi t of slip 14:10 would be like so good like 14:12 this would be such a good track car and 14:14 they say like this car is meant for 14:15 people who go to the track 14:17 yes exactly because they also added 14:19 additional cooling and stuff like that 14:20 there is an additional cooler especially 14:22 on the competition model in comparison 14:23 to the non-competition as well 14:25 okay this car did not overheat did not 14:28 yell at

me 14:29 nothing at all while we were doing way 14:32 too many donuts in it like 14:33 not a peep it didn't yell at us like 14:36 nothing 14:37 no no no low oil warning lights nothing 14:39 as far as i'm concerned 10 out of 10 14:41 cooling 14:41 yes for this special occasion let's just 14:43 send it through cliche corner again 14:44 and down jump down shift and 14:46 [Music] 14:47 this is so good to drive around here 14:49 it's perfect this is a great car 14:51 i did feel the m2cs

vibes 14:54 but i would still ta ke the m2cs like i 14:56 just i just would and it's a very 14:58 comparable price 14:59 and the m2 cs also looks better let's 15:01 get to the actual looks of that front 15:02 grille 15:03 just a little bit because i think it's 15:04 gross we already talked about it it 15:06 looks great yeah but i want to say it 15:07 looks gross there's a lot of rendering 15:08 we talked a lot about the looks 15:09 especially comparison between the m3 and 15:11 the m4 in our live

video when we did th e 15:13 first walk around of it north america 15:15 yeah so check that out there's a lot of 15:17 in-depth little things that you'll 15:18 notice like 15:18 where the cameras are located on badges 15:20 and stuff like that yes but for the 15:22 record 15:23 i don't like this what's your what's 15:25 your favorite rendering of the front end 15:26 do you want to 15:26 post that in the thing yeah it's from 15:28 that company in europe it's uh right now 15:30 that's what you're

seeing i forget what 15:31 the company's called but and i think 15:33 this is perfect 15:33 i'm they did a ballsy move changing up 15:36 this grill 15:36 and knocked it out of the park they did 15:39 what they needed to to get people to 15:40 talk about this 15:41 and it definitely worked i am enjoying 15:43 my time in this but i'm just going to 15:44 floor it one more time 15:47 we've got a zf 8-speed auto bmw has 15:49 modified it i believe it's called 15:51 steptronic 15:52 shifts like
lightning i love this 15:53 transmission 15:56 okay so we do have the exhaust fully 15:58 open which is the loud mode yuri toggle 16:00 the mode while i drive just so we can 16:02 give the people the sound difference 16:03 because it is also pumped in yeah ready 16:09 wow kind of disappointing that you can't 16:11 turn off the pumped in audio 16:13 and have the valves open exactly because 16:15 the valves are open in sport and sport 16:17 plus 16:17 but that button also controls

the 16:19 interior yeah you don't get like the 16:21 verbals in the backfires but it's like 16:22 kind of like ah that's my that's my only 16:24 real complaint everything else is great 16:28 [Music] 16:36 other than the grill for me i swear to 16:38 god 16:40 they're trying to make cool cars for us 16:41 the presentation was all old dudes and 16:43 they're giving us this awesome thing 16:44 with these cool colors oh it's great 16:46 i get i get it whatever so moving on to 16:48 t he interior some

of the cool stuff we 16:49 have and don't have in this one we don't 16:51 have 16:51 the lane keep assist that i really like 16:53 with radar crews but you can option it 16:54 out yeah so we only have regular crews 16:56 in this but we do have the backup assist 16:58 and everything we have the good 360 17:00 camera that spins all the way around we 17:01 have car wash mode which i actually used 17:03 in a car wash for lunch which is cool 17:05 well that fiesta looks re ally cool in 17:07 that 360

camera and that's the drive 17:09 recorder where we can actually have a 17:10 built-in dash camera that i can record 17:12 20 seconds ahead 17:12 and 20 seconds behind set up to a hotkey 17:14 which is such a good feature because i 17:16 don't want to like bolt a dash cam and 17:18 like wire it up through like a usb to a 17:20 cigarette lighter or whatever yeah and 17:21 then we have the same traditional 17:22 buttons that we have in every new 17:23 genera tion of bmw you can map them

to 17:25 almost everything we've mapped them to 17:27 all perform imagine they're all 17:29 performances 17:30 and carplay yeah carplay too okay 17:32 because this does have also android auto 17:34 and it is wireless 17:35 i apple carplay wireless and for the 17:37 record i never had an iphone before so i 17:39 never really listened to what yuri was 17:40 ranting about when he was ranting about 17:41 how much he did not like about wireless 17:4 3 apple yeah how it disconnect like when 17:45 you

try to disconnect 17:46 or sit there like you can't watch a 17:47 video because it'll be lag to disconnect 17:49 it it's very hard to disconnect 17:50 so yuri was right about that but the 17:52 workaround is you type 17:53 you click communications you go to 17:55 mobile devices you click on your phone 17:57 and click disconnect and that'll 17:58 disconnect it for long enough and then 18:00 you can just reconnect it quickly 18:01 ins tead of deleting it but bmw just add 18:03 an option 18:04 for

wired apple carplay yeah yeah that 18:06 would be ideal you can plug it into the 18:07 cup holder which fits this chorus cup 18:09 just fine 18:10 and hopefully it doesn't spill into that 18:11 usb what about these visors come on 18:13 three two one 18:14 yes do not expect that supercar fail 18:18 okay the rest of this interior we've got 18:20 a lot of this blue along the bottom 18:22 which is insane with the yellow 18:2 4 stitching like that is 18:25 next level yeah the contrast is

actually 18:28 like wild and when you first got into 18:30 this car did you realize that the 18:32 steering wheel felt lighter because of 18:33 all the carbon fiber i swear in my head 18:35 i'm like this 18:36 feels so light just to move around i 18:37 think you just had it in like comfort 18:39 mode because comfort mode is 18:40 no i just just to like move the whole 18:42 wheel like i feel like when i starte d in 18:44 the parking lot i think this is tricking 18:45 you with this extra 18:46 i

might be but it felt like it in my 18:47 head and it's heated so i like that yeah 18:49 it's heated we do have heated seats as 18:51 you mentioned you can't get cooled seats 18:52 on these seats but you can get them with 18:54 the base seats 18:55 ambient lighting you know same old bmw 18:57 yeah i think we're pretty much done with 18:58 the car yuri 19:02 man i really like this car okay let's 19: 03 get to the price it starts at eighty 19:05 five thousand 19:06 one hundred dollars cool and this
