[Music] so i'm yuri i'm taking record for a drive and my chief card challenge mustang my peak car challenge in 1987 ford mustang gt with no launch control 225 horsepower 300 pound-feet of torque clock 5-liter v8 hey you finally got another 5 liter mustang gt and another v8 so before yuri and i actually tell you about this mustang i asked a couple of my buddies to see what they thought about it hey guys chris fix here and today i'm going to show you why jacob's mustang is way better 100 without a
doubt than yuri civic check this out now anybody could say a mustang is better than a civic but i'll put my money where my mouth is hit second gear clutch kick whoa baby this is what i'm talking about let's see your civic dude this yuri mustang power 200 horsepower to the wheels drifting sideways yeah yuri civic is cool but as a mustang owner jacob's mustang is definitely better because i mean v8s are just awesome just listen to this cold start i mean who doesn't love that well hello straight
pipes i'm coming to you from my hometown of atascadera california i've got the mustang kind of clean for this i just want to welcome jacob to the mustang family and remind yuri that there's no replacement for displacement um but for real i can't wait to see what you guys do with your new cars looking forward to it they're awesome see you so i would have to say jacobs ford far surpasses yuri civic in every sense of the word i'm also i'm also a little bit of a of a ford guy uh you may know that

then buy some more crazy stuff because i've got so many ideas that i'll probably just share with the patreon people first yeah we got a lot of ideas so what do you want to start with let's start with the looks what is this paint scheme okay so when this popped up on the classified website that i bought it from i showed it to yuri i'm like dude look at this thing i gotta buy it you actually did buy it and you saw it for sale earlier so t his is your second chance to get it exactly it was actually
for sale earlier at a cheaper price and i missed it but then the guy listed it for more the next time and i ended up getting it for five grand on the dock because i negotiated down from 6 500 yeah but that was like a sketchy 6 500 yes it was but let's get back to this paint incredible i love how it's painted it's yellow to green flames on purple the whole front is yellow and you know what i'm gonna call this car what kyle ky le monster energy drinks exactly i i think this should be called
the serial thriller yeah well this is my car so welcome to kyle i love the colors that they chose for the fade it's so wild yeah they did a great job with like complimentary colors and everything and the actual paint job is pretty good but the quality of it besides everything that's warped fallen off and rusted yes which we'll get to in a second but talking about the front end we got all yellow up there we got fo g lights unfortunately they don't work hey ben what did we just discover
that there's no way to put fog light bulbs in this thing because there's no fog fog lights are fake like how did you there's there's no there's no harness there's nothing there's no ball like there's nothing it's just a bolt and i don't have a ford emblem is this the kind of fox body that you wanted absolutely not which one did you want well i wanted this one just not as like haggard so there are thre e different versions of the mustang there was the convertible there was the lx hatchback there
was also the lx notchback this is the gt and this is the way you want it yes you guys can probably tell this has an exhaust on it i'm going to keep it in lower rpms so when we got it it was straight pipe but now we put the valve exhaust from hot rod scott on it yeah shout out hot rod scotch he did exactly what i wanted for this i have dual valve mufflers and i can change it with this butto n on my key fob so let's take a listen off dead quiet and nasty so now nasty cartel and we have to
drive this review with the windows down because there's no ac so if the audio is a little bit bad we're sorry yeah also not sorry because it's 40 degrees outside and i'm just sweating my balls off okay let's get to the side view then okay i love the overall side profile of the hatchback that's why i wanted the gt because the gt gets the body kit and it's a hatch only yeah hatch looks better than the notch i think and you've got the body kit that says mustang at the bottom which is cool but you
don't have a 5.0 badge no i don't unfortunately so i'm kind of fooling people everyone's like oh that's got to be a four cylinder with that paint job and that exhaust okay and then the wheels these aren't actually the original wheels you bought them with yeah that's right so i bought it with 15-inch wheels they kind of look the same they were center lines but now i got these american racing 16-inch look pretty much the same but i got continental extreme contact sports for it now and that would
be the continental recommended tire for a weird-looking box body mustang you think this is weird looking i'm offended it's definitely weird looking but that's also the tire you're repping on your honda civic as well which is also weird looking exactly okay so now moving on to the back end you've got the tail light louvers yeah that's one of my favorite p arts of the gt body kit that's like when i had my camaro i always wanted the gridded iroc tail lights dude when i had my ford escort i made
my own gridded tail light i was there making that bad decision with you yeah and then the first time i did it i actually taped my entire hat shut so then i had to cut it open because i forgot okay and you don't have any exhaust tips showing back there no because the gt gets like tiny turn down tips because the body kit's so big but with the c ustom hot rod scott system they're turned down just before the rear diff so it sounds extra loud let me sing you the song of my people yuri oh my god i love
this this car sounds a lot better from inside than it does from being behind it i'm not gonna lie it's a really nasty sound from the outside it's this is nascar like this is the sound i wanted of a nascar v8 but when you're just like putting around it sounds very airy but when you're like really on it or high up it's out really go od scary i like having volume two or three to just cruise around but realistically it's always open overall looks wise i think this looks fantastic probably the best
looking mustang you could have purchased 10 out of 10 for period correction and there's a sticker on the back from a ford dealership in kirkland lake i believe so if you work at that dealership or you know anything about this car let me know because i looked at the previous owner history on the used vehicle package and at one point this had about 200 000 kilometers and i registered it with 108 000 kilometers yeah but it's not your fault because the guy before did it too yeah so in 2006 it had
200 000 but the owner after that already had a hundred thousand and then there was like several owners after that and then it got to me ah so this isn't exactly um it's not legit let's just say i have no idea what the mileage is on this thing that's fair all right so let's do some cliche corner downshift na sty township and i'm gonna go into second this time just for some extra nastiness here we go heel toe oh steering sketchy i can't even talk with that sound okay handling's not the best hearing
feels terrifying like downright terrifying but man that power and that sound pulls you right through this is the loudest most obnoxious scariest thing i've ever been in i'm so proud of this [Music] i have so much confidence in this car even though it already didn't want to start on me once shout up ben for fixing my start definitely watch our first video of how i acquired this vehicle and then there's also some cosmetic stuff under the hood where they painted the cover of your engine to
match exactly so that was definitely part of the show car heritage that this has been in who knows i bet you somewhere there's a photo of this with a trophy in front of it and a woman scantily clad and there's so many questionable wires in that engine bay i have no idea what half of them do they're definitely not stock but this thing has headers so it has a performance upgrade and it also has a mild cam no idea what that actual cam is but when this thing's idling i think it actually does have a
cam yeah i mean it sounds pretty good and i also think it has gears in the rear end because my speedometer is completely off so i think this is actually faster than a stock 1987 ford mustang gt everything about this is weird and sketchy and like makes me not want to buy a cheap car again i love everything about this but it's also terrifying and like having this headliner hit against my head is fairly annoying but the most important feature that this car has is the line lock right on my shifter
so this thing just does big nasty burnouts which i'm totally jealous of because my civic obviously can't do any of that stuff yeah and i'm shocked that the actual limited slip differential works so both tires actually spin every single time so looking inside h ere i noticed there's some decay uh your headliner's falling off and held on with clips i think that's from the last owner yeah and your tint is the worst the tint is the worst everywhere on every single window so the sunroof doesn't
actually have a cover just like my old mustang fox body and it's really annoying because the sun's always beating down on me and the tint is peeling which is really frustrating in a lovely shade of purple and on the back as well so the back is blur ry and i can't see anything out of the back so that's the one modification i would like to do is remove the tits because i can't see out of this thing and back to the sunroof you have so much rust up there yeah tons of rust on the sunroof i'd probably
just cut out the roof and just delete the sunroof ideally we need to get a body shop to do some repairs for both of our cars so hopefully we'll have some of that in the future i would like that so let's move on to this interior right in front of me i got a massive tack it goes to 10 000 rpm this car does not go to 10 000 rpm that tag on your gauge cluster is absolutely fine i totally agree i don't know why this big thing is here but my shift light works and it's easily settable with this little
shifter thing over here and so my red line is about 6000 rpm but this thing will definitely go to seven so i think someone removed the rev limiter so looking at my gauge cluster several of the gauges don't work the only one that really works is the voltage gauge the fuel gauge pretty much always reads full the oil pressure gauge never works and the coolant gauge also never works but then i have these supplementary gauges in the middle and only two of those work the voltage gauge also doesn't
work there yo buying these cars is a total nightmare to see what works or not it really is i don't think my rear defrost works because i press it and nothing happens but the rest of the buttons in my jet inspired cockpit definitely work i mean this is a cool cockpit i haven't really been in a fox body i had a camaro growing up and stuff so it was like a different kind of thing but this is pretty cool and i obviously don't have an airbag so safety is not a concern in this vehicle i also have
cruise control it doesn't work so i guess i don't have it and i have an adjustable steering wheel but it's so sketchy to adjust this it basically goes into like straight mode and then bus driver mode i guess for big knee guys right i get it okay let's talk about these okay let's talk about these seats because they are like custom racing seats or whatever but they're really stiff yeah they're tuned by matrix bro i have no idea what that means so if anyone knows this company let me know but i
would love to replace these seats with something that i feel is maybe safer i like the original pattern on these back seats i think that's really cool yeah that would have been the fronts too and then it is a hatchback that does not have shocks or struts that work still but you know what does work the box test one two three sorry we couldn't fit these guys in the mustang but now we got five six and seven and put my little piece of perch down counts come on it's just jammed on the plastic i'm
gonna break something six seven and then how about the back seat room jacob you can try sitting behind there and here's a gratuitous shot of me sitting behind myself at six foo t one and a half i mean we used to pile everyone in the back of my camaros like even after quebec we used to do that yeah even you said in the i background for like several hours man we were dumb idiots yeah i wouldn't do that now so continuing on with this interior everything's kind of broken in here i obviously have an
ashtray that doesn't have anything holding it and then there's also random wires down here which if you fold down the back seats this thing had a sub or amp or some kind of sound system at one point what i really like is how there's no surround around the unlock and window buttons on the door but they work and i have power locks and power windows which you don't have and i have power mirrors but those don't work yeah the mirrors are so small this is basically a luxury car though yeah so if you
have your elbow on the window you can't see out of the mirrors how about this audio system audio system is terrible well it's kind of the best because i t doesn't work and i got a lot more to say but let's get you behind the wheel of this thing oh i don't know who's gonna be more scared me or you have both yuri squeal kyle's tires okay so good that is definitely more fun to rip around than my civic yeah way more but driving this thing feels so much sketchier and way more stressful than my civic
your civic is so easy to drive and it kind of feels like more like a modern day car this feels like an old muscle car this feels like someth ing that belongs at the racetrack and on a trailer and that's it pretty much i wouldn't even want to dress on a racetrack but i will i really like this shifter but i don't like how stiff the clutch pedal is the clutch is so stiff the shifter is really hard to get into gear and this is fuel injected not carbureted that's right my first camaro was
carbureted when you first got this i'm like am i going to pump the gas three times no way bro the only thing you have to pump is the brakes to get the line lock to work hey you know we haven't tested out yet what's that the visors oh uh yeah oh yeah they we they're what oh they go forward three two one ah well i i didn't even think they could disconnected oh my hand is so gross that is disgusting for the record we haven't got either of these cars detailed this is exactly how we bought them i
washed mine with like a rag oh and yes to confirm there is pretty much no visibility out the bubbles up the back yea h but it does drive pretty straight like the wheels move but like the car goes straight ish and the suspension's a little wonky it's like going over bumps it makes that like that thud sound but every time i turn the wheel there's so much body roll and it feels like kind of like a sketchy pouch yeah it basically has to like catch up with the steering wheel but it is a very light
steering wheel which is nice compared to my civic that has no power steering yuri send kyle into cliche corner for me crackle some puffs baby [Music] wow i'm scared of kyle do not like kyle love kyle kyle's nasty okay yo those crackers are pops though crackles and pops the backfires are amazing they are authentic i'm actually very happy that i got my civic and not something that drives like this and i'm so happy that i got this because it's exactly what i wanted out of a mustang this is very

him down yep so i believe i have won the five thousand dollar challenge because i paid five thousand dollars on the dot so price is the right rules i think i won now i did have to add a several thousand dollars worth of things to this to make it run so i guess i kind of lost yes yours didn't come safety so that just means i have the leftover difference to make my car faster if it loses to you on the racetrack that is true so there is some catching up to do that you can do okay and then what was
this brand new i'm just gonna flash it up on the screen because i ac tually didn't look it up before it's probably pretty similar to what a current mustang cost and somebody else recently got a fox body mustang for dirk cheap yes that was actually ken block i watched that video shout out ken block now we're fox body buddies but ken block i actually beat you on the price if we convert this to us dollars and to be fair we've been planning this for like three or four years to buy a fox body and a
camaro yes turns out we just went fox body and civic and this is my second fox body where ken blox was his first even though it's convertible so i love my fox body and i love being fox body bros with ken block and i'm excited for the hunafox to actually come out i think it's called f buddies no no no no no fox body pros so overall i would rate this 5 000 cheap car purchase a 10 out of 10 because you nailed it this is ridiculous it looks as good i however am happy with my car but this is such a

cam yeah i mean it sounds pretty good and i also think it has gears in the rear end because my speedometer is completely off so i think this is actually faster than a stock 1987 ford mustang gt everything about this is weird and sketchy and like makes me not want to buy a cheap car again i love everything about this but it's also terrifying and like having this headliner hit against my head is fairly annoying but the most important feature that this car has is the line lock right on my shifter
so this thing just does big nasty burnouts which i'm totally jealous of because my civic obviously can't do any of that stuff yeah and i'm shocked that the actual limited slip differential works so both tires actually spin every single time so looking inside h ere i noticed there's some decay uh your headliner's falling off and held on with clips i think that's from the last owner yeah and your tint is the worst the tint is the worst everywhere on every single window so the sunroof doesn't
actually have a cover just like my old mustang fox body and it's really annoying because the sun's always beating down on me and the tint is peeling which is really frustrating in a lovely shade of purple and on the back as well so the back is blur ry and i can't see anything out of the back so that's the one modification i would like to do is remove the tits because i can't see out of this thing and back to the sunroof you have so much rust up there yeah tons of rust on the sunroof i'd probably
just cut out the roof and just delete the sunroof ideally we need to get a body shop to do some repairs for both of our cars so hopefully we'll have some of that in the future i would like that so let's move on to this interior right in front of me i got a massive tack it goes to 10 000 rpm this car does not go to 10 000 rpm that tag on your gauge cluster is absolutely fine i totally agree i don't know why this big thing is here but my shift light works and it's easily settable with this little
shifter thing over here and so my red line is about 6000 rpm but this thing will definitely go to seven so i think someone removed the rev limiter so looking at my gauge cluster several of the gauges don't work the only one that really works is the voltage gauge the fuel gauge pretty much always reads full the oil pressure gauge never works and the coolant gauge also never works but then i have these supplementary gauges in the middle and only two of those work the voltage gauge also doesn't
work there yo buying these cars is a total nightmare to see what works or not it really is i don't think my rear defrost works because i press it and nothing happens but the rest of the buttons in my jet inspired cockpit definitely work i mean this is a cool cockpit i haven't really been in a fox body i had a camaro growing up and stuff so it was like a different kind of thing but this is pretty cool and i obviously don't have an airbag so safety is not a concern in this vehicle i also have
cruise control it doesn't work so i guess i don't have it and i have an adjustable steering wheel but it's so sketchy to adjust this it basically goes into like straight mode and then bus driver mode i guess for big knee guys right i get it okay let's talk about these okay let's talk about these seats because they are like custom racing seats or whatever but they're really stiff yeah they're tuned by matrix bro i have no idea what that means so if anyone knows this company let me know but i
would love to replace these seats with something that i feel is maybe safer i like the original pattern on these back seats i think that's really cool yeah that would have been the fronts too and then it is a hatchback that does not have shocks or struts that work still but you know what does work the box test one two three sorry we couldn't fit these guys in the mustang but now we got five six and seven and put my little piece of perch down counts come on it's just jammed on the plastic i'm

ashtray that doesn't have anything holding it and then there's also random wires down here which if you fold down the back seats this thing had a sub or amp or some kind of sound system at one point what i really like is how there's no surround around the unlock and window buttons on the door but they work and i have power locks and power windows which you don't have and i have power mirrors but those don't work yeah the mirrors are so small this is basically a luxury car though yeah so if you
have your elbow on the window you can't see out of the mirrors how about this audio system audio system is terrible well it's kind of the best because i t doesn't work and i got a lot more to say but let's get you behind the wheel of this thing oh i don't know who's gonna be more scared me or you have both yuri squeal kyle's tires okay so good that is definitely more fun to rip around than my civic yeah way more but driving this thing feels so much sketchier and way more stressful than my civic
your civic is so easy to drive and it kind of feels like more like a modern day car this feels like an old muscle car this feels like someth ing that belongs at the racetrack and on a trailer and that's it pretty much i wouldn't even want to dress on a racetrack but i will i really like this shifter but i don't like how stiff the clutch pedal is the clutch is so stiff the shifter is really hard to get into gear and this is fuel injected not carbureted that's right my first camaro was
