00:05 i'm jacob 00:06 and we're going for a drive 00:19 bmw alpena xb7 2021 mercedes mybach gls 00:23 600 00:24 with no launch control 00:34 with launch control oh my god 00:43 that's way faster than it should be so 00:44 we wanted to compare the most luxurious 00:47 suvs we can find from the german rivals 00:49 of mercedes and bmw 00:51 and they're both from each company's 00:52 in-house specialty sub-brand 00:54 so let's get into the horsepower and 00:56 torque the mybach has
550 00:58 horsepower 538 pound-feet of torque from 01:00 a 4-liter twin-turbo v8 with eq 01:03 boost and the alpena has 612 horsepower 01:06 590 pound-feet of torque from a 4.4 01:09 liter twin-turbo v8 all right ready 01:11 three 01:11 two one oh gone 01:15 completely dusted into my box yeah so 01:18 one of these is definitely sportier and 01:20 i happen to be in the sportier one which 01:22 is the alpena there is no doubt 01:24 in my mind this is way faster because 01:26 every time we've tried
to compare these 01:27 this one just takes off the alpena is 01:29 meant for drivers where this mybach is 01:32 actually kind of meant for the back 01:33 seats because we've got 01:34 only two seats back there yeah 01:36 considering it's meant to be a three row 01:38 suv and you only have two seats in the 01:39 back 01:40 uh it's extra luxurious back there so a 01:42 couple million of you liked our previous 01:43 gls versus x7 video another couple 01:46 million liked our gle bouncing
video 01:48 if you're one of those couple million 01:49 maybe subscribe so you know when we do 01:51 the next really cool comparison 01:52 and the xb7 is the fastest x7 that you 01:55 can buy 01:56 but this is not the fastest gls that you 01:58 can buy there is a gls 63 02:00 that is faster yeah and the gls 63 is 02:03 also even cheaper than that so it also 02:05 kind of splits the difference where you 02:06 get more performance but less luxuries 02:07 so it w ould also be a really
good 02:08 matchup with the xb7 02:10 and maybach only modifies the s-class 02:11 and the gls where alpena will do a whole 02:14 bunch of different bmw models so these 02:16 are big three-row suvs let's start with 02:18 the looks 02:18 starting with the front ends the modbach 02:20 has a totally different grill than every 02:22 other mercedes it's not that pan 02:23 americana style it's like a thinner 02:25 version of it yeah it definitely looks 02 :26 more luxurious and the grill
below 02:28 looks very very chromy and it stands out 02:32 yeah and it kind of looks a little cheap 02:34 as well whereas nothing on this alpena 02:36 front end looks cheap 02:37 i love the alpena logo up front and we 02:39 got a pretty big grill on the x7 as well 02:41 i wouldn't say it looks cheap i would 02:42 say it looks a little cheese but i like 02:44 it and we got way better headlights 02:46 on the bmw i would kind of argue that 02:48 the gls headlights are 02:50 just as good because the
suv headlights 02:52 on the new mercedes are really really 02:53 nice yeah but the overall front end on 02:55 the alpino just looks so much more 02:56 aggressive well remember how everyone 02:58 made fun of the x7 grill because it was 02:59 so big 03:00 compared to this grill on the maibok it 03:02 doesn't seem that big at all no it 03:04 really doesn't so let's move on to the 03:06 side where i 03:07 have the better stance in the alpena 03:09 okay the alpena can get dumped all the 03:11 way to
the bottom while you're parked 03:12 where the mybach cannot the maybach you 03:15 can't dump all the way when you're in 03:16 park but you can dump it when you're in 03:18 driving in the car 03:19 with your off-road assistance individual 03:21 wheel settings but what the mybach has 03:23 that the xb7 doesn't have is bounce mode 03:26 with your free driving assist yeah 03:28 that's to get yourself out of a stuck 03:29 situation we previously experienced that 03:31 in the
gle 03:33 [Music] 03:37 but i feel like every mybach has that 03:39 only for the reason that it looks super 03:41 cool 03:41 and it's part of the e-active body 03:43 control package although it is 03:45 definitely the coolest party trick you 03:46 can only use it below 15 kilometers per 03:48 hour you can't use it in parks so you 03:50 have to be in drive or 03:51 even reverse actually so bmw wins for 03:53 the stance but how about the wheels the 03:55 alpena wheels 03:56 always look amazing but
we kind of have 03:58 alpena ish style mybach wheels in the 04:00 gls 04:00 yeah they're very very similar 04:02 multi-spoke design i think they both 04:04 look really good i almost have to tie 04:05 them but at the same time the alpena has 04:07 the heritage of these amount of spokes 04:09 so i kind of have to give it to the 04:10 alpena 04:11 and i'm gonna give it to the maybach 04:13 be cause the wheels are a bunch brighter 04:15 and they 04:15 really match the chrome accents on the 04:18 side
of the myback which i really like 04:20 the xb7 only has that little chrome 04:21 hockey stick at the bottom nothing 04:23 chrome around the windows yeah the xb7 04:24 just has an overall sportier look 04:26 from every angle because you also have a 04:28 mybach logo 04:29 on your c-pillar where i don't have 04:31 anything yeah i guess that's more of a 04:32 luxury kind of thing to throw on your 04:34 suv 04:34 and the mybach is definitely the more 04:36 luxurious one of these two and
now 04:37 moving on to the back end who's got the 04:39 cooler tail lights 04:40 i gotta give it to the mybach on this 04:41 one they look a little bit cooler 04:43 totally agree and then if we move down 04:44 to exhaust tips 04:45 as cool as the xb7 is the my box are 04:48 just a little bit cooler 04:50 no way i'm giving it to the alpino 04:51 because come on doubl e dual exhaust it 04:53 looks so good it's classy okay and then 04:54 we should probably listen to both of 04:56 them from the
outside 05:00 and although we want to know how they 05:02 rev we also want to know how quiet they 05:04 are from the outside so let's take 05:05 another listen 05:10 yeah you pretty much can't even hear 05:11 this maybach from the outside idling but 05:13 how does it sound from the inside when i 05:15 floor it in my back mode 05:19 still pretty quiet but you hear a little 05:21 bit of rumbling you're in my back mode 05:23 which is your most comfortable mode i'm 05:24 gonna go to sport plus mode
which is my 05:26 most sporty mode and then floor it 05:28 that sounds pretty good but still not 05:31 obnoxious like an m car or like a 63 amg 05:35 yeah and they're both dead quiet inside 05:37 but i do have to give it to the mybach 05:39 for being slightly more quiet 05:41 and then as for paint we both have them 05:42 in black i think the green and blue 05:44 looks much better on the alpena 05:46 but we're missing the awesome two-tone 05:48 that we can option on the gls 05:50 uh yeah so we
got to give them a tie for 05:52 what we have because we both have the 05:54 black versions of each one 05:55 but overall looks wise if you could spec 05:57 one out the way you want it 05:59 i would totally pick a two-tone mybach 06:01 and i think that looks 06:02 so much better than the xb7 and i 06:05 thousand percent agree with that 06:06 even though the alpena does look like 06:08 more of a monster 06:10 so the next thing that people probably 06:11 really care about in these types of
suvs 06:13 is comfort so i'm actually gonna put 06:14 myself into comfort plus mode 06:16 and it is sublime in here we both have 06:19 air suspension 06:20 but i gotta give the win to the mercedes 06:22 maybach 06:23 yes we have a mybach suspension mode and 06:26 it takes your comfort and then it adds a 06:28 little di amond next to it 06:29 to prove to you how luxurious your 06:31 comfort is in here yeah whereas alpena 06:33 mode if they had one would probably be 06:35 the more sporty mode
whereas 06:37 the maybach mode is actually the more 06:38 comfortable mode so the maybach and 06:40 alpena both give us different fonts on 06:41 the back of the cars 06:43 who has the cooler badge slash logos i 06:45 don't really know 06:46 i think i gotta give him a tie i think 06:48 alpino wins because th e a is such a 06:50 weird shape to me 06:51 okay that we'll give it a 0.1 of a win 06:54 on that one 06:55 and it's this mybach has a little too 06:57 many mercedes logos and not

talk 07:37 about the second row of seats 07:38 normally if we weren't comparing this 07:40 alpena to anything else other than that 07:42 mybach this thing would probably win 07:43 against everything else 07:45 but because we're comparing it to that 07:46 it definitely win s for the interior on 07:48 the mybach 07:48 yeah it's definitely more 07:49 rolls-royce-ish back here but the 07:51 maybach can be optioned without just 07:53 those two seats but lucky for us it is 07:55 but you can't get a
third row the only 07:56 thing you can get is three seats in the 07:58 back so we've got a center console with 08:00 a fridge 08:01 in this maybach we've got some champagne 08:03 flutes that are conveniently 08:05 missing i'm not sure who took those out 08:07 we've got hidden trays that you can work 08:08 on down there we've got 08:10 two screens that you can browse the 08:11 internet and control the infotainment 08:13 from and we've got some of the nicest 08:16 airplane style reclining seats
and don't 08:18 forget about that tablet that is an 08:20 android tablet that you can take out and 08:22 also control your infotainment 08:24 and all of your peasant blockers and 08:25 shades and then we've also got super 08:27 crazy ambient lighti ng in the back of 08:28 the maybach too 08:29 but it is pretty normal mercedes ambient 08:32 lighting and in the xb7 i actually do 08:34 have three rows and all of them are very 08:36 comfortable to get into 08:37 they're not quite as comfortable as
the 08:38 seats on the mybach but i have no 08:40 complaints about sitting in any row 08:42 in this vehicle yeah the xb7 also does 08:45 have two screens at the back which does 08:46 control the infotainment but i didn't 08:48 see a web browser so you're gonna get 08:50 points on the mybach there 08:52 yeah and there's no massages or anything 08:53 back there we do have heated which is 08:55 nice but 08:56 it's kind of lacking a couple luxurious 08:58 features like yours has 08:59 and this
mybach also has these huge side 09:01 steps that also come out when you open 09:02 the doors 09:03 and it's extra wide at the back because 09:04 this car is about the rear seat room but 09:06 i feel like the xb7 09:08 is mea nt to be sportier and still allow 09:10 you to do everything you want to do 09:12 where this mybach is like there's a lot 09:13 of stuff you can't do but you are going 09:15 to be so comfortable 09:16 so luxurious that it doesn't even matter 09:18 so in the second row of the
alpena 09:20 you actually have extra pillow headrests 09:23 for the seats yeah so you can put them 09:24 on or remove them i would definitely 09:26 just leave them on 09:27 and the maybach of course also has that 09:29 and it's got lumbar pillows 09:31 yeah the lumbar pillows are pretty sweet 09:33 because they also say my back and fun 09:35 fact my 09:36 iphone 12 pro max actually fully fits 09:39 in the wireless charger in the back of 09:40 the mai box which is so luxurious 09:42 i'm so
surprised that an auto 09:44 manufacturer actually planned for that 09:45 the year that the car came out yeah well 09:47 to my buck i would hope that they did 09:48 that and just to prove how good the 09:50 suspension is here's some gratuitous 09:51 shots of the cars going over train 09:53 tracks didn't even feel them if i didn't 09:54 know i was going over train tracks 09:56 i wouldn't even know i did it so let's 09:58 switch up the cars talk about a little 10:00 bit more technology maybe a
little 10:01 trunk room stuff go through cliche 10:03 corner and decide 10:05 which one wins considering the prices 10:07 are a little off 10:08 just gonna floor it one last time oh 10:11 yeah that's fast 10:13 i'm going to keep it in my back mode one 10:15 more time 10:17 perfect recovery mode bounce by switch 10:20 yeah okay bounce control 10:26 alpena with the real launch control 10:32 [Music] 10:33 that's really fast 10:36 [Music] 10:37 all right for real sport mode launch 10:44 still pretty
quick i guess what we 10:45 really need to find out is is the luxury 10:48 worth 10:48 missing out on the speed i think i've 10:51 made up my mind but i'll save that for 10:52 the end of the video 10:53 so back to these two interiors we've 10:55 actually got much nicer colors 10:57 in this alpena we've got some blue and 10:59 white and you know how much i love white 11:01 interiors 11:02 the white interior is definitely pretty 11:03 cool but considering this black interior 11:05 actually looks
amazing and i'm not 11:07 really a fan of gloss black but seeing 11:09 gloss black with these pinstripes 11:11 i don't know what mercedes did but they 11:12 figured me out cause i'm 11:14 totally okay with this i don't think 11:15 mercedes did that i think mybach did 11:17 that 11:17 but there are a lot of very cool colors 11:20 you can get in the my box 11:21 too called mahogany macchiato beige 11:24 interior 11:25 and then you can also get a white 11:26 interior in the mai box from what
i've 11:28 seen on some different page builders 11:29 and my favorite part of driving this 11:31 because yeah i guess you'd actually 11:32 probably driv e this if you owned one 11:34 this steering wheel this gloss black 11:36 again i don't really care about it 11:37 because it's so expensive it just feels 11:39 so nice 11:40 okay but there's a leather wrapped 11:41 alpena steering wheel with the blue and 11:43 green stitching plus the alpena logo is 11:45 like top notch too 11:46 and in the
mybock the paddles kind of 11:48 feel cheap and plasticky i don't 11:50 really like them but i wouldn't ever use 11:52 them either yeah and in the alpena we've 11:53 got these little 11:54 button paddles at the back that's a 11:56 heritage thing that aren't really 11:57 convenient to use either 11:59 who's going to win the steering wheel 12:00 battle i think we just have to give it 12:02 to the alpena even though both of us 12:03 wouldn't use any of these paddles ever 12:05 okay how about
interior lightings 12:07 overall in each of these cars 12:09 i gotta give the wind to the maybach 12:10 like a hundred percent t he maybach is 12:11 very good but 12:12 look how great of a job i did of showing 12:14 off the alpena's interior lights yeah 12:16 but look how great of a job i did on the 12:18 mybach lights 12:19 i think the mybach did all that work bro 12:21 it was me and the most important 12:23 interior feature 12:24 the visors three two one slide 12:27 yes and double visor in the
my block 12:30 double pass 12:32 no points my back 12:36 before we get into comparing the tech i 12:38 want to compa re the practicality so 12:39 let's hit them with the 12:41 box test one two three 12:44 four five six 12:48 seven boxes in the alpena so we only 12:52 have enough room for 12:53 corbin's box and adam r's box in the 12:56 mybach 12:57 not very surprising considering the my 12:59 box back seats don't go down 13:00 but now that i'm a dad you're going to 13:02 be a dad soon we should
probably do the 13:04 baby seat test so it turns out the baby 13:06 seat actually fits in both cars 13:0 8 very easily because the maybach has a 13:10 removable panel for the isofix mounts 13:15 most luxurious baby check but the most 13:17 shocking thing is that the stroller 13:19 actually 13:20 fit around the fridge in the back of the 13:22 my box yeah i was genuinely shocked by 13:23 that i i didn't think it was gonna fit 13:25 great job my box slash up a baby collab 13:28 i i don't know i
don't know who made 13:30 that work yeah i don't think there's any 13:31 coal out there just happened to work 13:32 kate this car is 13:34 perfect for baby peasant blockers 13:37 she doesn't like when people look at her 13:39 and super comfy back seats like 13:42 way more comfortable than a nissan rug 13:43 no shade nissan rogue but 13:45 leaving the hospital but doing better 13:46 than this oh 13:48 and the built-in rocking baby to sleep 13:50 mode okay 13:51 it's okay baby we're turning on oh
yeah 13:55 it actually works rocking you actually 13:58 and 13:59 baby's not sad anymore oh yeah 14:02 we're going to talk about the tech in a 14:03 second but first these seats are so 14:05 comfortable in both of these 14:07 i kind of just basically have to give 14:08 them a tie yeah and they both have a 14:09 massage 14:11 they they kind of need to tie front seat 14:12 wise back seat wise you know 14:14 my lock yeah and let's talk about some 14:16 drive modes so we did show you that

was it 14:40 okay 14:40 you know how much i love cups an d cup 14:42 holders do you have 14:44 heated and cooled cup holders in your 14:45 mai box of course i do and when i press 14:48 the button to heat or 14:49 cool them the led lights up blue or red 14:52 my led 14:53 changes as well but it's small and not 14:54 as impressive in the alpena xb7 but it 14:57 is pretty cool that we both have cooled 14:58 and heated cup holders 15:00 okay back to more technology stuff we 15:02 both
have 15:03 really wide digital displays yeah and 15:05 the ones on the mybach are basically the 15:07 same as every other mercedes across the 15:08 board 15:09 however we do have special mybot gauges 15:11 with the mybach logo 15:12 and this alpena does have a customized 15:14 gauge cluster as well with all alpena 15:16 fonts 15:16 and the tack goes green to blue 15:19 which is very very cool i think it has 15:21 more customization and therefore 15:23 the alpena wins what there's no
way 15:25 these ones are so much more customizable 15:27 than the mercedes 15:28 but it literally just has a little 15:29 maybach logo this alpena thing is fully 15:31 reskinned yeah but the amount of things 15:33 that you can do with these gauges 15:35 listen these are the better gauges even 15:37 though i don't like them as much 15:38 and then as for infotainments i've got 15:40 that awesome bmw infotainment with the 15:42 rotor wheel 15:43 i've got an alpena rotary wheel and a 15:45 crystal
shifter how about th e mai box i 15:47 have a really nice mybach logo on the 15:48 palm rest and then i also have a little 15:50 touchpad and a touchscreen 15:51 and i also have android auto and apple 15:53 carplay in the maiboc as do you and the 15:55 bmw 15:55 we both have very high res reverse 15:57 cameras they both have car wash mode 15:59 but the car wash mode in the maybach is 16:01 just so much better because it goes 16:02 through a checklist of things 16:04 that you have to do before you
go 16:05 through a car wash whereas the car wash 16:06 mode in the alpena 16:08 just shows your parking camera basically 16:10 yeah but like a straight down view so 16:11 you know you line up and don't scratch 16:13 those wheels 16:14 i actually have to give the overall win 16:15 to the bmw for the infotainment because 16:17 i find it just 16:18 so easy to use now totally agree the bmw 16:21 one is so great and this one has a 16:22 built-in drive recorder that will record 16:24 to the car where
the drive recorder app 16:27 on the mybock you need to actually plug 16:28 in a usb to save your drive recordings 16:31 and the alpena will rewind satellite 16:32 radio with jump back but you actually 16:34 have that ant tuned mix in the my box so 16:36 i'm super jealous of that and then we 16:37 both have radar crews and lane keep 16:39 assist they're both very very good 16:41 but the one in the mailbox is just that 16:43 much better yeah the one in the alpena 16:45 does sway a little bit l eft
and right 16:46 but below 50 kilometers an hour you do 16:48 have the traffic jam mode where it looks 16:50 at your eyes with the camera 16:51 so if you're in like daily commute 16:53 traffic all the time 16:54 this might be the better choice and if 16:56 you have open roads and you want to 16:58 chase people down the alpena might also 16:59 be the better choice yeah but if i'm the 17:01 type of person to buy in my box i might 17:03 actually have a chauffeur 17:04 so therefore th e maybach was
the better 17:06 choice all right train track test 17:08 and what transracks 17:11 pretty much a couple more fun little 17:13 tests what's the top speed on your 17:14 speedometer jacob 260 in the maybach 17:17 gary 340 kilometers an hour in the 17:20 alpena 17:21 damn bro and they both actually have a 17:23 vitality mode 17:24 but the bmw alpena soundtrack is a 17:26 little more classic 17:30 and i've got gesture control so i can do 17:33 all the cool hand waving stuf f in the 17:34 alpena i just
tell my chauffeur to do 17:36 that 17:38 damn that's that's a good one so heading 17:40 into cliche corner in the my block i've 17:42 got individual sport comfort 17:43 my back and curve and off-road i'm 17:45 definitely going to leave it in curve 17:46 mode for cliche 17:47 in the mai box and i'm going to keep the 17:49 alpena in sport plus so i can just leave 17:51 you in the dust 17:52 and so what curve mode does in the 17:53 mybock is that it'll dip th e inside 17:55 basically like you're
driving a 17:56 motorcycle it's a really weird feeling 17:59 but it always kind of keeps you level 18:00 it's a really cool system 18:02 and a gentleman's agreement to keep them 18:03 in automatic 18:05 okay this thing is just like so fast for 18:07 a huge suv through here 18:09 yeah and i don't really care about going 18:10 fast at all i just care about being 18:12 horizontal 18:16 and the mybach doesn't have any rear 18:18 wheel steering so i t does 18:19 feel kind of big yeah let me see if
i 18:22 can see some of that rear wheel steering 18:24 through cliche and it definitely feels a 18:26 lot more like an m car than it does a 18:28 rolls royce in the alpena xb7 18:30 yeah and that also shortens your 18:32 wheelbase in like parking lots and stuff 18:33 it's a really good system 18:35 i love rear wheel steering and the 18:36 steering effort on both of these is very 18:38 light but it's not 18:39 effortless like a rolls -royce would be 18:40 and although we agreed not to use
the 18:42 paddles through cliche corner 18:43 what about our pedals yuri yeah i've got 18:45 normal ones in the xb7 but they are kind 18:47 of nice i had fun using my mybach 18:49 branded gas pedal through cliche corner 18:51 and then my brake pedal as well they 18:53 look fantastic 18:53 that is a little way too luxury but i 18:56 think i want to answer the question now 18:58 jacob you always love fast cars right i 19:0 1 do love my fast cars 19:02 would you take this faster xb7 that is
a 19:04 little bit less luxurious 19:06 than that slower mybach which is super 19:08 luxurious yeah it's almost like a one 19:10 second difference to their zero to 60 19:12 times but yuri i would 100 percent go 19:14 with the maybach because 19:16 i just love how much luxury there is in 19:17 here the maybach would make no sense in 19:20 my life 19:20 this car is perfect dailying an xb7 19:24 alpena would be so much better for my 19:25 lifestyle but if i could pull off the 19:27 mybach

550 00:58 horsepower 538 pound-feet of torque from 01:00 a 4-liter twin-turbo v8 with eq 01:03 boost and the alpena has 612 horsepower 01:06 590 pound-feet of torque from a 4.4 01:09 liter twin-turbo v8 all right ready 01:11 three 01:11 two one oh gone 01:15 completely dusted into my box yeah so 01:18 one of these is definitely sportier and 01:20 i happen to be in the sportier one which 01:22 is the alpena there is no doubt 01:24 in my mind this is way faster because 01:26 every time we've tried
to compare these 01:27 this one just takes off the alpena is 01:29 meant for drivers where this mybach is 01:32 actually kind of meant for the back 01:33 seats because we've got 01:34 only two seats back there yeah 01:36 considering it's meant to be a three row 01:38 suv and you only have two seats in the 01:39 back 01:40 uh it's extra luxurious back there so a 01:42 couple million of you liked our previous 01:43 gls versus x7 video another couple 01:46 million liked our gle bouncing

good 02:08 matchup with the xb7 02:10 and maybach only modifies the s-class 02:11 and the gls where alpena will do a whole 02:14 bunch of different bmw models so these 02:16 are big three-row suvs let's start with 02:18 the looks 02:18 starting with the front ends the modbach 02:20 has a totally different grill than every 02:22 other mercedes it's not that pan 02:23 americana style it's like a thinner 02:25 version of it yeah it definitely looks 02 :26 more luxurious and the grill
below 02:28 looks very very chromy and it stands out 02:32 yeah and it kind of looks a little cheap 02:34 as well whereas nothing on this alpena 02:36 front end looks cheap 02:37 i love the alpena logo up front and we 02:39 got a pretty big grill on the x7 as well 02:41 i wouldn't say it looks cheap i would 02:42 say it looks a little cheese but i like 02:44 it and we got way better headlights 02:46 on the bmw i would kind of argue that 02:48 the gls headlights are 02:50 just as good because the
suv headlights 02:52 on the new mercedes are really really 02:53 nice yeah but the overall front end on 02:55 the alpino just looks so much more 02:56 aggressive well remember how everyone 02:58 made fun of the x7 grill because it was 02:59 so big 03:00 compared to this grill on the maibok it 03:02 doesn't seem that big at all no it 03:04 really doesn't so let's move on to the 03:06 side where i 03:07 have the better stance in the alpena 03:09 okay the alpena can get dumped all the 03:11 way to
the bottom while you're parked 03:12 where the mybach cannot the maybach you 03:15 can't dump all the way when you're in 03:16 park but you can dump it when you're in 03:18 driving in the car 03:19 with your off-road assistance individual 03:21 wheel settings but what the mybach has 03:23 that the xb7 doesn't have is bounce mode 03:26 with your free driving assist yeah 03:28 that's to get yourself out of a stuck 03:29 situation we previously experienced that 03:31 in the
gle 03:33 [Music] 03:37 but i feel like every mybach has that 03:39 only for the reason that it looks super 03:41 cool 03:41 and it's part of the e-active body 03:43 control package although it is 03:45 definitely the coolest party trick you 03:46 can only use it below 15 kilometers per 03:48 hour you can't use it in parks so you 03:50 have to be in drive or 03:51 even reverse actually so bmw wins for 03:53 the stance but how about the wheels the 03:55 alpena wheels 03:56 always look amazing but
we kind of have 03:58 alpena ish style mybach wheels in the 04:00 gls 04:00 yeah they're very very similar 04:02 multi-spoke design i think they both 04:04 look really good i almost have to tie 04:05 them but at the same time the alpena has 04:07 the heritage of these amount of spokes 04:09 so i kind of have to give it to the 04:10 alpena 04:11 and i'm gonna give it to the maybach 04:13 be cause the wheels are a bunch brighter 04:15 and they 04:15 really match the chrome accents on the 04:18 side
of the myback which i really like 04:20 the xb7 only has that little chrome 04:21 hockey stick at the bottom nothing 04:23 chrome around the windows yeah the xb7 04:24 just has an overall sportier look 04:26 from every angle because you also have a 04:28 mybach logo 04:29 on your c-pillar where i don't have 04:31 anything yeah i guess that's more of a 04:32 luxury kind of thing to throw on your 04:34 suv 04:34 and the mybach is definitely the more 04:36 luxurious one of these two and
now 04:37 moving on to the back end who's got the 04:39 cooler tail lights 04:40 i gotta give it to the mybach on this 04:41 one they look a little bit cooler 04:43 totally agree and then if we move down 04:44 to exhaust tips 04:45 as cool as the xb7 is the my box are 04:48 just a little bit cooler 04:50 no way i'm giving it to the alpino 04:51 because come on doubl e dual exhaust it 04:53 looks so good it's classy okay and then 04:54 we should probably listen to both of 04:56 them from the
outside 05:00 and although we want to know how they 05:02 rev we also want to know how quiet they 05:04 are from the outside so let's take 05:05 another listen 05:10 yeah you pretty much can't even hear 05:11 this maybach from the outside idling but 05:13 how does it sound from the inside when i 05:15 floor it in my back mode 05:19 still pretty quiet but you hear a little 05:21 bit of rumbling you're in my back mode 05:23 which is your most comfortable mode i'm 05:24 gonna go to sport plus mode
which is my 05:26 most sporty mode and then floor it 05:28 that sounds pretty good but still not 05:31 obnoxious like an m car or like a 63 amg 05:35 yeah and they're both dead quiet inside 05:37 but i do have to give it to the mybach 05:39 for being slightly more quiet 05:41 and then as for paint we both have them 05:42 in black i think the green and blue 05:44 looks much better on the alpena 05:46 but we're missing the awesome two-tone 05:48 that we can option on the gls 05:50 uh yeah so we
got to give them a tie for 05:52 what we have because we both have the 05:54 black versions of each one 05:55 but overall looks wise if you could spec 05:57 one out the way you want it 05:59 i would totally pick a two-tone mybach 06:01 and i think that looks 06:02 so much better than the xb7 and i 06:05 thousand percent agree with that 06:06 even though the alpena does look like 06:08 more of a monster 06:10 so the next thing that people probably 06:11 really care about in these types of
suvs 06:13 is comfort so i'm actually gonna put 06:14 myself into comfort plus mode 06:16 and it is sublime in here we both have 06:19 air suspension 06:20 but i gotta give the win to the mercedes 06:22 maybach 06:23 yes we have a mybach suspension mode and 06:26 it takes your comfort and then it adds a 06:28 little di amond next to it 06:29 to prove to you how luxurious your 06:31 comfort is in here yeah whereas alpena 06:33 mode if they had one would probably be 06:35 the more sporty mode
whereas 06:37 the maybach mode is actually the more 06:38 comfortable mode so the maybach and 06:40 alpena both give us different fonts on 06:41 the back of the cars 06:43 who has the cooler badge slash logos i 06:45 don't really know 06:46 i think i gotta give him a tie i think 06:48 alpino wins because th e a is such a 06:50 weird shape to me 06:51 okay that we'll give it a 0.1 of a win 06:54 on that one 06:55 and it's this mybach has a little too 06:57 many mercedes logos and not

third row the only 07:56 thing you can get is three seats in the 07:58 back so we've got a center console with 08:00 a fridge 08:01 in this maybach we've got some champagne 08:03 flutes that are conveniently 08:05 missing i'm not sure who took those out 08:07 we've got hidden trays that you can work 08:08 on down there we've got 08:10 two screens that you can browse the 08:11 internet and control the infotainment 08:13 from and we've got some of the nicest 08:16 airplane style reclining seats
and don't 08:18 forget about that tablet that is an 08:20 android tablet that you can take out and 08:22 also control your infotainment 08:24 and all of your peasant blockers and 08:25 shades and then we've also got super 08:27 crazy ambient lighti ng in the back of 08:28 the maybach too 08:29 but it is pretty normal mercedes ambient 08:32 lighting and in the xb7 i actually do 08:34 have three rows and all of them are very 08:36 comfortable to get into 08:37 they're not quite as comfortable as
the 08:38 seats on the mybach but i have no 08:40 complaints about sitting in any row 08:42 in this vehicle yeah the xb7 also does 08:45 have two screens at the back which does 08:46 control the infotainment but i didn't 08:48 see a web browser so you're gonna get 08:50 points on the mybach there 08:52 yeah and there's no massages or anything 08:53 back there we do have heated which is 08:55 nice but 08:56 it's kind of lacking a couple luxurious 08:58 features like yours has 08:59 and this
mybach also has these huge side 09:01 steps that also come out when you open 09:02 the doors 09:03 and it's extra wide at the back because 09:04 this car is about the rear seat room but 09:06 i feel like the xb7 09:08 is mea nt to be sportier and still allow 09:10 you to do everything you want to do 09:12 where this mybach is like there's a lot 09:13 of stuff you can't do but you are going 09:15 to be so comfortable 09:16 so luxurious that it doesn't even matter 09:18 so in the second row of the
alpena 09:20 you actually have extra pillow headrests 09:23 for the seats yeah so you can put them 09:24 on or remove them i would definitely 09:26 just leave them on 09:27 and the maybach of course also has that 09:29 and it's got lumbar pillows 09:31 yeah the lumbar pillows are pretty sweet 09:33 because they also say my back and fun 09:35 fact my 09:36 iphone 12 pro max actually fully fits 09:39 in the wireless charger in the back of 09:40 the mai box which is so luxurious 09:42 i'm so
surprised that an auto 09:44 manufacturer actually planned for that 09:45 the year that the car came out yeah well 09:47 to my buck i would hope that they did 09:48 that and just to prove how good the 09:50 suspension is here's some gratuitous 09:51 shots of the cars going over train 09:53 tracks didn't even feel them if i didn't 09:54 know i was going over train tracks 09:56 i wouldn't even know i did it so let's 09:58 switch up the cars talk about a little 10:00 bit more technology maybe a

amazing and i'm not 11:07 really a fan of gloss black but seeing 11:09 gloss black with these pinstripes 11:11 i don't know what mercedes did but they 11:12 figured me out cause i'm 11:14 totally okay with this i don't think 11:15 mercedes did that i think mybach did 11:17 that 11:17 but there are a lot of very cool colors 11:20 you can get in the my box 11:21 too called mahogany macchiato beige 11:24 interior 11:25 and then you can also get a white 11:26 interior in the mai box from what
i've 11:28 seen on some different page builders 11:29 and my favorite part of driving this 11:31 because yeah i guess you'd actually 11:32 probably driv e this if you owned one 11:34 this steering wheel this gloss black 11:36 again i don't really care about it 11:37 because it's so expensive it just feels 11:39 so nice 11:40 okay but there's a leather wrapped 11:41 alpena steering wheel with the blue and 11:43 green stitching plus the alpena logo is 11:45 like top notch too 11:46 and in the
mybock the paddles kind of 11:48 feel cheap and plasticky i don't 11:50 really like them but i wouldn't ever use 11:52 them either yeah and in the alpena we've 11:53 got these little 11:54 button paddles at the back that's a 11:56 heritage thing that aren't really 11:57 convenient to use either 11:59 who's going to win the steering wheel 12:00 battle i think we just have to give it 12:02 to the alpena even though both of us 12:03 wouldn't use any of these paddles ever 12:05 okay how about
interior lightings 12:07 overall in each of these cars 12:09 i gotta give the wind to the maybach 12:10 like a hundred percent t he maybach is 12:11 very good but 12:12 look how great of a job i did of showing 12:14 off the alpena's interior lights yeah 12:16 but look how great of a job i did on the 12:18 mybach lights 12:19 i think the mybach did all that work bro 12:21 it was me and the most important 12:23 interior feature 12:24 the visors three two one slide 12:27 yes and double visor in the
my block 12:30 double pass 12:32 no points my back 12:36 before we get into comparing the tech i 12:38 want to compa re the practicality so 12:39 let's hit them with the 12:41 box test one two three 12:44 four five six 12:48 seven boxes in the alpena so we only 12:52 have enough room for 12:53 corbin's box and adam r's box in the 12:56 mybach 12:57 not very surprising considering the my 12:59 box back seats don't go down 13:00 but now that i'm a dad you're going to 13:02 be a dad soon we should

have 15:03 really wide digital displays yeah and 15:05 the ones on the mybach are basically the 15:07 same as every other mercedes across the 15:08 board 15:09 however we do have special mybot gauges 15:11 with the mybach logo 15:12 and this alpena does have a customized 15:14 gauge cluster as well with all alpena 15:16 fonts 15:16 and the tack goes green to blue 15:19 which is very very cool i think it has 15:21 more customization and therefore 15:23 the alpena wins what there's no
way 15:25 these ones are so much more customizable 15:27 than the mercedes 15:28 but it literally just has a little 15:29 maybach logo this alpena thing is fully 15:31 reskinned yeah but the amount of things 15:33 that you can do with these gauges 15:35 listen these are the better gauges even 15:37 though i don't like them as much 15:38 and then as for infotainments i've got 15:40 that awesome bmw infotainment with the 15:42 rotor wheel 15:43 i've got an alpena rotary wheel and a 15:45 crystal
shifter how about th e mai box i 15:47 have a really nice mybach logo on the 15:48 palm rest and then i also have a little 15:50 touchpad and a touchscreen 15:51 and i also have android auto and apple 15:53 carplay in the maiboc as do you and the 15:55 bmw 15:55 we both have very high res reverse 15:57 cameras they both have car wash mode 15:59 but the car wash mode in the maybach is 16:01 just so much better because it goes 16:02 through a checklist of things 16:04 that you have to do before you
go 16:05 through a car wash whereas the car wash 16:06 mode in the alpena 16:08 just shows your parking camera basically 16:10 yeah but like a straight down view so 16:11 you know you line up and don't scratch 16:13 those wheels 16:14 i actually have to give the overall win 16:15 to the bmw for the infotainment because 16:17 i find it just 16:18 so easy to use now totally agree the bmw 16:21 one is so great and this one has a 16:22 built-in drive recorder that will record 16:24 to the car where
the drive recorder app 16:27 on the mybock you need to actually plug 16:28 in a usb to save your drive recordings 16:31 and the alpena will rewind satellite 16:32 radio with jump back but you actually 16:34 have that ant tuned mix in the my box so 16:36 i'm super jealous of that and then we 16:37 both have radar crews and lane keep 16:39 assist they're both very very good 16:41 but the one in the mailbox is just that 16:43 much better yeah the one in the alpena 16:45 does sway a little bit l eft
and right 16:46 but below 50 kilometers an hour you do 16:48 have the traffic jam mode where it looks 16:50 at your eyes with the camera 16:51 so if you're in like daily commute 16:53 traffic all the time 16:54 this might be the better choice and if 16:56 you have open roads and you want to 16:58 chase people down the alpena might also 16:59 be the better choice yeah but if i'm the 17:01 type of person to buy in my box i might 17:03 actually have a chauffeur 17:04 so therefore th e maybach was
the better 17:06 choice all right train track test 17:08 and what transracks 17:11 pretty much a couple more fun little 17:13 tests what's the top speed on your 17:14 speedometer jacob 260 in the maybach 17:17 gary 340 kilometers an hour in the 17:20 alpena 17:21 damn bro and they both actually have a 17:23 vitality mode 17:24 but the bmw alpena soundtrack is a 17:26 little more classic 17:30 and i've got gesture control so i can do 17:33 all the cool hand waving stuf f in the 17:34 alpena i just
tell my chauffeur to do 17:36 that 17:38 damn that's that's a good one so heading 17:40 into cliche corner in the my block i've 17:42 got individual sport comfort 17:43 my back and curve and off-road i'm 17:45 definitely going to leave it in curve 17:46 mode for cliche 17:47 in the mai box and i'm going to keep the 17:49 alpena in sport plus so i can just leave 17:51 you in the dust 17:52 and so what curve mode does in the 17:53 mybock is that it'll dip th e inside 17:55 basically like you're
driving a 17:56 motorcycle it's a really weird feeling 17:59 but it always kind of keeps you level 18:00 it's a really cool system 18:02 and a gentleman's agreement to keep them 18:03 in automatic 18:05 okay this thing is just like so fast for 18:07 a huge suv through here 18:09 yeah and i don't really care about going 18:10 fast at all i just care about being 18:12 horizontal 18:16 and the mybach doesn't have any rear 18:18 wheel steering so i t does 18:19 feel kind of big yeah let me see if
i 18:22 can see some of that rear wheel steering 18:24 through cliche and it definitely feels a 18:26 lot more like an m car than it does a 18:28 rolls royce in the alpena xb7 18:30 yeah and that also shortens your 18:32 wheelbase in like parking lots and stuff 18:33 it's a really good system 18:35 i love rear wheel steering and the 18:36 steering effort on both of these is very 18:38 light but it's not 18:39 effortless like a rolls -royce would be 18:40 and although we agreed not to use
