[Music] I'm Yuri I'm Jakob we're going for your drive you've seen it on the track now see it on the streets the 2018 Porsche 911 gt3 I love this this car is amazing let's start this off by talking about what makes this car special the engine naturally aspirated flat-six it sounds so good and it revs up to 9,000 9,000 ready it sounds amazing it sounds like an f1 car or a motorcycle seeing 10,000 on your gauge cluster for rpm is insane horsepower and torque 500 horsepower 500 and torque 339 which

is kind of low it's not the fastest car ever but it is very very fast and the only reason I say it's not the fastest car ever is because we've also driven the gt2 RS we've been a little bit spoiled jumping from a Carrera T into this you would poop your pants jumping from this to a gt2 RS you would also poop your pants but jumping back from a gt2 RS to a gt3 you kind of under your pants this is like training wheels yeah but this is so good really fast rating I love this car tell me mo re about GT

models GTS are Porsches special models they are the fastest ones they're built in a completely separate factory a completely separate region in Germany is that buy stock if I suck is the region and they're actually made and flocked I probably didn't pronounce that right I'm sorry and you were saying you see it on the license plates yeah I saw a guy with black 6 that's a really good license plate this being the gt3 there is it gt3 RS yes there's a gt2 RS but right now ther e's no gt2 no it comes

and goes and generations it started as a gt2 and the last couple generations have been gt2 RS s and a GT 4 existed for a while yes the Cayman which people really loved I would love to drive one haven't driven one but supposedly it's one of the best GT cars I think the GT line is very cool it's a really cool name and you get the coolest models out of it yeah exactly and did you know that this engine is pretty much straight out of the gt3 Cup cars it is straight out of the gt3 a little bit

of tweaks to make it road-legal ok yeah yeah explain gt3 Cup cars those are for racing people actually buy them from Porsche for factory racing so that everybody has the same car so you can actually race driver to driver kind of stuff it's really cool it's a good series I watched it at the Honda indeed there's a lot of fun seeing those River and hey what's with that gt2 RS following behind us we have achieved horas as well and we're going to do som e comparisons we're actually gonna just show it

to you in the background of a bunch of shots because we have it yeah and it looks amazing and it sounds amazing yeah so gt2 RS following around we're also gonna look into what's different because some people might be getting a gt3 as a starter car for a gt2 RS in the future if you get this as a starter car well I mean my starter car starter GT car because you need to get a bunch of GTS before you can get a gt2 RS true Yury are using the paddles to shift yeah I am that's because it's a

7-speed PDK but did you know that they actually added the manual back they got rid of it in the previous gt3 oh yeah then they added it back in the you can get manual in this one yes you can you can also only get manual in the touring version that's right but people were pissed because the last generation that completely got rid of the manual yo manuals are the best they brought them back the career T manual compared to the career TPD cake yeah but how good is this PDK oh it's lightning we've

got PDK sport yeah so that's another level above the regular PDK that's already lightning so we're at Zeus with that suits that Zeus okay sport is Zeus behind the wheel of this car I don't feel overwhelmed for how fast of a Kart is very true it's very controllable if you've driven other Porsches newer ones it's very similar inside it's pretty much identical inside for 911s another cool thing about the gt3 which w as also in the career tee was it has an actual key yes it does so many people don't

actually know this but you start the car from the left side and Porsches that's because LeMond starts when you have to run to the car start it get in it and drive and then they changed it because they figured it was kind of unsafe to have people running around without seatbelts trying to stay or take off but Porsche of being Porsche they moved it to the left side so that you could start it while you p ut it in gear genius very cool so they've kept it ever since then there you go we drove these on

the track yes we did let's talk about that watch our track video do watch our track video it was amazing these cars handles so well they're so confidence inspiring I think this is more fun on a track than it is on public roads working this car to the redline is the best part it is you're so rewarded at 9,000 rpm in this car but you can't hit that often on public roads no but it does look a mazing on public roads as well yes it does let's dig into looks a little bit before I let you drive the wing

it's amazing it is nice big color mass wing and it's huge they repositioned it from the previous generation and they made it slightly bigger it blocks pretty much all the important things behind me in my rear view so you could probably see it somewhere over here in this camera but like it actually gets in the way of cars it's amazing I love the little 4.0 badge underneath the w ing what are the four but I'll stand for the engine displacement I thought it's 3.8 - the gt2 RS right yes with two

turbos tacked on okay just checking yeah yeah we'll be referencing a little bit of that is there anything else you like about the backend other than gigantic wind okay we got a cool like cut out that comes out from behind the wheel yeah we do and we also have the 911 our rear diffuser do you like the exhaust look yeah I like the center exhaust it's very cool I think my favorite part though is the RAM bear the ram air at the back where the engine is yeah because I grew up with Firebird Trans Ams

Camaros people would throw Ram air on them it had Ram air I love Ram air fair enough I really like the wheels there were actually one of my favorite parts of this car overall I like the big brakes they look so nice and they stop you like crazy I kind of like the color of chalk yes just like the Panamera Hybrid we drove watch that video as well but I thin k maybe it's the least good color of all Porsche gt3 s I feel like you really need to get a bright color in something like this like that red

one we drove on the track that was amazing with red seatbelts yeah yeah which are also options which these are also options I think the mirrors look really cool like they were just flat out moulded in a wind tunnel and you can actually option different color for the base of the mirror or you can color match it they do look very sleek but I th ink my favorite part is the front bumper yeah the front proper is just next-level like the gt2 RS one is way better but for what this is it's very nice it's

got a very nice shape its sleek the lines come in and you have nice big inlets as well I think this one is waist sleeker like you said then the gt2 R but that one I appreciate because it's pure function this is the classy GT yes it is and that's the redneck GT yeah I guess order a redneck NASA scientist yeah yeah okay yeah yeah si nce we're referencing that gt2 RS should we pull over and maybe look at some of those similarities and differences since it's twice the price of this yeah let's look

over the ton of differences in few similarities and they'll drive I'd like to start off with the wheels behind those wheels if you have those carbon ceramics just like these ones right here we've got the same headlights on both and the same shaped mirrors speaking of mirrors they're attached to these doors which are th e same ones as the ones on the gt2 RS we've got carbon fiber race buckets in the gt3 and in the gt2 RS the layout of the interiors are pretty much the same except we've got that

fire extinguisher here now for some differences because there's a lot we have a completely different front bumper on this one there's no inner coolers there's only radiators because there's no turbos on this we have huge openings here they're also for cooling what the inner coolers are actually in the back check out that inner cooler vent nothing here the badge on the gt2 RS is just a sticker and it's on a carbon-fiber hood on the gt3 we've got a normal badge but we don't get a carbon-fiber hood

we've got a carbon-fiber lip on this vent right here but we've only got a vent on this one you know I like carbon right check this out all carbon not so much gt3 has ram air the gt2 RS also has ram air but it's carbon fibre we've got a color match spoiler on the gt3 but we got this big old carbo n fiber spoiler on the gt2 RS we've got a titanium exhaust on this with the exhausts on the outside not titanium exhaust in the middle we've got an actual badge on the gt3 but stickers on the gt2 RS for

weight savings one similarity we forgot centre locks centre locks there's a lot more going on on this one what watch our whole separate video on that let's get back to this one my turn to drive send some Drive just you need to have ideal conditions to get a solid launch control launc h because there's so much power this is rear-wheel drive and everything's being sent through the back with the engine in the back everything's in the back but tires make the biggest difference on cars like this and

this has this has Dunlop's the tread wear is good but they don't grip as well as Michelin's so as Michelin officially our favorite Michelin's been my favorite tire manufacturer for a while I'm slowly learning more and more about tires and it makes such a big difference so cars like this and up the tire temperature and brand and all that stuff make a huge difference like even if we had really good Michelin's on here they would have to be warmed up the road would have to be warmed up there's

differences like that when you get into horsepower levels like this that make a huge difference although technically on paper this can do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with the PDK [Music] which is pretty damn fast I can see that yeah it's actually like three p oint nine with the manual so it's a pretty big difference oh yeah well for sure but yeah manual deal I know it better I know the gt3 also gets a rear-wheel steering standard because it's a GT cover just like our career keys had that's right

but there was an option that's what made those special this came with it and let's test it out on cliche corner a little bit of a send we can't send too much because the roads are not warmed up the tires from DUP you cannot use the full potential o f this car not even close to what it can do on a public road but if you go to track days it's perfect go to Porsche track days we don't sell them but they're so good we learned so much on Porsche track days you learn how to smile yeah and send because

the instructors actually know how to teach you really well back to the suspension though it handles so flat the turnin is so good and we have adjustable suspension so you hit that button firms up but between both the modes I honestly do n't know is that big of a difference because it's so race car to begin with exactly it's already so stiff that it doesn't even matter so you might as well just leave in the stiffest mode and enjoy it speaking of boats does not have a sport mode but it only has a

sport key DK because we're sitting in sport mode yeah the car is always sport mode so we don't have a special note to make the exhaust sound better like within the Carrera key the exhaust is always sounds crazy well there is an exhaust button but it doesn't add purples and tops it just makes it louder just makes it louder and this doesn't burble and pop no it doesn't it just sounds nasty the whole way through it sounds so good in the higher rpms eerie do you mind yeah yeah Oh 9,000 okay thank

you I love the steering wheel itself as well this is Alcantara if not the shape do you care no I don't care because Porsche knows what they're doing you know what my hands are always at nine three right where my paddles are okay this steering wheel has different stuff than the other steering wheels and the car keys yes it does you actually has no button no buttons but we have a little turn stock for our menu settings because we do have the same gauges and that same little screen that's right and

the paddles are metal and they feel so good they are not carbon fiber like another car yeah alright times risers test we know 3 2 1 fail that doesn't matter rewinding sound my radios doesn't have it A ndroid auto doesn't have it apple carplay has it the funniest part about this is the tire pressure monitoring system actually has a race track mode that accounts for colder temperatures before you get out onto the track I did notice that cold and there's more settings like that that's crazy

that's next level because race car that's right this is race car this race engine race car you know what I like about it being race car is that it only has one digital gauge yeah I know ev erything else is analog and it shifts so quickly everything keeps up with everything that this car does and we've got the white gauges which look pretty cool they are an option just like our sport chrono just like our chalk trim interior race pockets we are sitting in carbon fiber optional race buckets they're

not optional yes they are you can get non race buckets in this yes you can what I thought carbon fiber race buckets were a forced option on GTS nope options they're super comfo rtable but getting in and out kind of sucks we just suffer through it because it's so worth it okay we do not have memory seats because you actually have to pull a lever to slide back and forth I have found that when you're getting out the best thing to do is slide it back then it makes it really easy to get out especially

with the steering wheel if you don't know where to slide it you next time add a piece of tape just like we showed you in our career Atty video the whole layout in h ere is very simple nothing's complex you don't need to look down for anything you know exactly where everything is it's so easy to use I absolutely love this whole and we do not have vaccines because of GT buckets because race car and even if you did have back seats with carbon buckets you can't get back there you know you can you

need to do one seat for one seat back no shoes on so we go through only if you're a smaller person like myself because these carbon buckets are formed i n this way you cannot move this part back and forth I love that though I love not being able to decide how much I can change my seat because I don't know what I'm doing speaking of that like I say in every single Porsche video the driving position absolutely nailed especially with the carbon buckets it's so good you're so low to the ground I

absolutely love it we've got manual adjustment for the steering wheel we're just so good yeah it's so easy to use in race cars I think you n eed this instead of electronic I agree I don't want to wait if I ever want to readjust quickly on the track it's just my boom yeah I'm kind of cheese we don't have straps for the doors yeah I know yes an engine just screams man there's no lag there's it's so linear but you need to be in the right gear to get full power you do but you know what else is good

is if you leave it in Drive and then you mash the throttle God right away yeah it skips gears like that Zeus transmission ever Z eus the PDK is amazing for how good the manual probably is because I believe it's very similar if not the same to the one in the career in t this is really really good some people might think getting a PDK is better for stop-and-go traffic if you're stuck in rush-hour everyday what's your thoughts on that I think so however that manual is just so good that it's so worth

just getting the manual for yeah I don't think you should ever get PDK unless you're trying to set lap times yeah th is would be the ultimate lap time car if I was going on on the track every single weekend I would 100% go with the PDK oh yeah if you had something to prove exactly I think that's the reason you get a PDK but if I only went maybe three four five times a year I would definitely go manual it's just not worth it I wonder you do the mode switch for Auto rev-matching in the manual

because there's no buttons on the steering wheel maybe you don't if anybody's got a gt3 Touring we would love to test it out I don't even want the Touring because the Touring deletes the wing and adds leather I want just the regular gt3 with the manual what if we got it for a week be nice be nice I'm matching and now let's get to the price one hundred and sixty three thousand dollars canadian starting or as is starting obviously we're not sitting in that are we no we are not to put that into

perspective for the rest of the GT lineup the gt3 RS is $50,000 more and the gt2 RS hundred and seventy one thousand dollars more more than double the price of this car start to start you probably can't even order one base so you can't however this car that we're driving is just over two hundred thousand dollars Canadian Canadian yeah cuz you can get a lot of options oh yeah you can't you just keep checking boxes you want leather vents you got leather vents I'm not even gonna ask you if it's
