and general tires it's valid from April 1st to May 31st the link is in the description back to the review all right the reason I'm driving first is because there's a lot of crazy techy stuff in here and I want to cover as much of it as quickly as possible go for it the first thing is you can talk to this car hey BMW turn on my heated seats I'm setting the seat heating on the driver's seat at level 3 so it knows that Yuri said it not me yeah because it has micr ophones and it knows who's
talking into which one which is pretty cool but it can't look up stuff on Google like it can't convert kilometers to miles an hour like Mercedes can apparently it's coming in the future yeah well not right now that's right 50 kilometers to miles scale fifty kilometers but what's also cool about this is this menu is very confusing right yes it is very confusing very overwhelmed say I don't know how to find my trip computer you know what I can say yo u can say it hey BMW hello what can I help you
with trip computer trip data please continue with manual control which is nice because now you don't need to dig through complicated menus to get more features what's the trip computer right now what's the trip computer so since refueling we have been getting through all those things you have everything it's hard to read exactly what the screen shows up quickly all right fine now the next cool feature that this has that older ones didn' t you have a backup assistant so what that means is if
you drive 50 meters into somewhere you can go into reverse and it'll automatically back you up that exact same route and I use it to get out of my dad's tricky driveway look how tight it god that's very cool that it could do that no problem impressive it is very impressive and you don't even need to like trick the system it works so easily with a click of a button the next thing is the Park Assist so I use the Park Assist fo r parallel parking on a normal Street in a tight spot and it got in
there just fine probably better than I could have done on my own and it's super easy to use it actually shows you where the spot is you click that to confirm confirm that you're gonna do a parallel park and it gets right in there change the gears for you automatically nice now to the lane keep so it keeps you in your lanes just like Mercedes does right yes it does but not as good not as good that's I was gonna sa y as well it kind of looks like it's not looking as far front of heads as it should
yes and if you don't have Lane keep on active the lane departure still works really well as shown here and if you want to turn everything off because you're frustrated with it you just press and hold on the center button right here I call that the safety halo yeah yeah I like it and new for I Drive seven this does have traffic jam assistant which technically under 60 kilometers an hour when you're in a traffic jam you'll click the mode button and it'll let you have your hands off as long as your
eyes are looking forward because there's a sensor that looks at your eyes when you said this did you mean this exact car this exact one does not I tried I tried I called BMW turns out they sent this x5 without that technology because they wanted to get some reviews out this is an early production unit yeah that kind of happens sometimes if you buy one yours will happen oh and by the way th at also applies to the 3-series that we drove in Portugal and the m8 5000 those reviews they didn't have
that enabled either so next BMW review yes quick cut to Friday morning I woke up super early drove to the BMW guy picked up an x5 with traffic jam assist that worked went to the Don Valley Parkway look for some traffic the second I hit stop and go traffic it prompted me I hit mode and traffic jam assist turned on I stayed in my lane no hands on the wheel the whole time I was st uck in stop-and-go traffic it worked just like it was supposed to good job BMW if you guys put in a feature just put it
in the car give it to us after yeah but but we want those early view yeah yeah like you wouldn't have done a pre-production set for of course I would yeah hey BMW give us a pre-production said before it went I said hey BMW give us ok whatever it's a it's a small problem that only journalists who do video have to face speaking of things in this BMW going wrong when y ou don't want them to go wrong gesture controls yeah well you move your hands a lot oh I do so you can I'm gonna keep my hand all
the way you can do this to turn up the volume and turn it down so the sensor is right here so it's actually pretty much above the shifter so you have to do all of your motions above the shifter and then it works and what I found is very cool is I actually started using it the more and more I get prompted as a reminder and what's your favorite one your if I go to a whining satellite radio stations this will rewind for me and this will go forward it actually does legitimately work yeah and you
look kind of like a crazy person it's much easier to just push the buttons but it's very impressive to people who don't know the car can do that one time one time in ik time yep but at Tim Hortons you know I was at their drive-thru I'm just doing this while getting something else into my other pocket it does work it does two more things so sa y we get confused by all the tech in here when we scroll down in the help menu there's a little play button that plays videos of how to do everything so
it's very easy to explain to people cool yes and the last thing we've got kicked open trunk which may not seem like a big deal but combined with the way they do keyless entry it's so perfect I used it to kick it open when I got out of my car pulled something that I needed both arms to carry out of the car use the kick to close it and then I use just my pinky on the keyless closing to make sure the car was closed didn't have to push a button or anything and I didn't to put anything down and since
we're talking so much about the trunk box test 13 boxes finally you guys want those pairs or not so then should we do the visor test yeah I guess we might as well 3 2 1 yes perfect yep and a small cup it's the same as all the other cup holders is it though heated and cooled cup holders ok besides that yeah that's prett y gangster that is so gangster good job BMW I don't know how well it works I'm sure we'll test it out one day yeah we'll get two ice caps in the summer and see how fast the heated
and this would melt them yeah yeah so I've been rambling for a bunch what would you like to talk about before I let you drive I'd like to talk about the looks it looks really friggin good it does I love the new BMW design language everyone's making fun of that big grill but like it works yeah I have no issu es with it I think this is one of the best-looking SUVs in the segment now definitely it's very proportionate and I don't think the grill is too big it's not x7 size no it's not so it's safe
still and the headlights look really good and we do have the laser lights overall it's a very aggressive looking SUV like it looks way better than the Mercedes G Olli and I even think it looks better than the Cayenne now yes potentially just looks I'm on the edge I do like that it's white I thin k it looks nice in this color but did you notice the fake girls at the front I did not my favorite passable yeah yeah it's like but at least it's not plastic cladding on the fender flairs see exactly or
fake vents on the side which this does also have do you like the body line on the side of this didn't really notice it I think it's so crisp it looks so good I didn't really notice it didn't stand out that that's one of the things that I know if you noticed exhaust tips and stuff and I noticed like Chris body lines let's talk about those exhaust tips brutal but not the worst they're kind of buried they're not as bad as the m8 they're not double exactly so it's a fake surround with the exhaust
tip in the middle and you can see it very clearly and speaking of that exhaust it actually sounds pretty good for its inline six it's not like a v8 like their big 50 i but it sounds decent and it sounds a lot better in Sport+ inside yeah it does taillights taillights are really good they're so similar to the BMW 3-series yes remember everyone was complaining about that for some reason they like it looks like your copied lexus lexus yeah but on here they look perfect they look great and lit
up they're like full size they flash when your turn see what's going on like I friggin love these taillights I think people were more upset at the 3-series ones because they kind of curved up these ones kind of curve up and go around but it's a design that wor ks across the whole lineup now yes do you like the look of the wheels because I personally do not but these are winters I can't even remember what they look like the black black and we are not uncon tential tires and we are finally sort of
getting out of winter so the recommended Continental Tire would be the premium contact six don't forget to enter the contest and do it details below what do you think about the brake calipers though em brake calipers because we have the M package t his isn't a full M but it has the M Sport package yep and we just need to accept that because that's life for everyone now yeah M Sport and this and performance and line AMG wheels AMG's bumpers yeah whatever whatever F Sport we'll get used to it one
day message board bumper anything else what the looks black roof rack alright okay I guess your turn to drive sure I noticed you're in comfort mode Sport Plus send it's pretty quick so a zero to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and if you want t o go almost a full second faster than that you can get the v8 twin-turbo 50i but overall this drivetrain is very good and there's a huge difference between comfort and sport plus like massive difference in this car yeah so I really like Sport Plus but it's
absolutely not necessary in this so what I appreciate the most is having sport individual because what BMW did was separate the transmission from the engine in sport individual so the way I set it up is always have the engin e in Sport Plus and the transmission in just normal mode so did we say that BMW is in the lead for customizing drive modes absolutely and especially in the M cars where you get the 2 M buttons good job guys but I stuck an eco pro pretty much the whole time really yeah like
it's not lightning fast it's not crackling and popping like what do I need to go kind of faster in a kind of faster SUV I appreciate the quickness of this and the handling handling is good for like I'm never in a situation that I need to push this but then you probably don't want any performance SUV at all well only straight line performance SUVs ok like the track Hawk what about the Cayenne though Kyle was nice but we haven't driven the performance models yet no we haven't yet but we will very
soon then I'm sure I'll turn obnoxious but I get a Porsche SUV is like is it really an SUV or is it kind of just like secretly a taller no it's definitely a Porsche SUV is typically a taller car well that's what this competes with and the biggest thing that I noticed with the mode changes is when you have any comfort the gear changes are like very slow normal very smooth and then as soon as you put in Sport Plus it's like almost violently quick I really like this transmission it's nice that BMW
doesn't dumb down their transmission for lower models exactly we have a fast transmission and it goes in everything like if you want to go faster will make you go faster I could be wrong b ut I'm pretty sure this is the exact same transmission that's in the MA 50 i and the 3-series as well because it feels so good exactly it feels the same and then the drive modes also customise the suspension because we do have adaptive suspension so I'm gonna put it into Sport Plus and send it in the
cliche corner send it into cliche corner shirt teespring check it out okay so this handles really well it's not quite Porsche but if you don't want pet from an SUV this is so g ood this is like a really good middle ground before you get into a Porsche but it handles so well and it's really quick as well but back to that suspension it's nice and supple especially in comfort mode when you want to send it it's not too stiff in Sport Plus the suspension is so comfortable and come from oh there's
barely any body roll in Sport Plus there's definitely body roll in comfort but that's where you want it and like little bumps like you barely feel them at all exact ly and overall the car feels so solid this gives me that Porsche level of solidity going over bumps I agree and typical of BMWs as soon as you put in the Sport Plus with the steering it gets pretty heavy but it's not that heavy it's not like a 3-series heavy and some of our complaints with BMWs is really girthy steering wheels as
one's good this is good I forgot that doesn't complain exactly felt so good yeah this is normal so BMW start putting this in your 3-series and all that stuff I concur and this is X Drive so it is all-wheel drive and it's not like understeery it feels very rear biased and I believe that can even send up to 100% of the power to the rear wheels in probably one scenario but that's about it so in terms of driving this is excellent one of my favorites for sure I agree now let's talk about the interior
yes hey BMW massage which one of these destinations should I select Oh massage clinic I think I should have said turn on my massage so in ca se we don't want to go a massage destination we can also press this button right over here to turn on the massage and what's cool is that you can control my side with that number 2 button right there but you can't control my massage from there which makes sense so they're kind of stepping on Mercedes turf now exactly so the massage is very good it's got
a whole bunch of different modes I like a lot yeah I like it a lot too but mostly I think I just really liked these seats yeah t he seats are super comfortable they are both heated and cooled but the leather quality it's real it's unreal the colour is cool and remember how the x3 seats weren't as comfortable it felt like there was always like a balloon in the back yes nothing here yeah exactly Nathan these seats are really good everything looks really nice the stitching and everything like it
looks really classy in here let's talk about this color brown because we're talking about that earlier we've complai ned about shades of brown in other interiors this is a really good shade of interior Brown yes it's not the Mercedes saddle brown I think yeah it's not as light as that but it's a good BMW version of their own Brown it looked just really good it's not like the Mazda one where it's pretty much black or like the Sierra Denali which is pretty much black we hate that ya know as for
other things in here we do have this nice dark wooden trim I don't really like it it doesn't stand out b ut I think it's a subtle wood yeah it feels really old person ish to me but doesn't look like you're trying too hard like you know in the Mercedes when it's like super exposed dry wood with no glass you're like whoa I like that like I got to be careful about spilling juice on this that's true if I spill anything on this like whatever wipe it off it's a good point and there's not too much gloss
black in here and in front of the crystal shifter which by the way this also has a crystal s hifter with the X in the middle unlike the 8 with the 8 Series I need to point out an unintentional feature of the crystal shifter oh I know what it is when the Sun hits it right it shoots rainbows up on different parts of that headliner and I'm sure at one angle it'll just nail you in the eye and you'll be blinded yeah but like by the rainbow yeah well and you for I Drive seven I can actually program my
apple carplay to one of the preset buttons and then we also have wireless chargi ng which is pretty nice to have speaking of wireless charging you know what else we have that's wireless wireless carplay Wireless carplay and mine kept disconnecting so you need to connect through Wi-Fi and bluetooth if it disconnects at all then you need to forget your networks rejoin it's pretty much a nightmare I absolutely hate it but the reason they're doing it that way if they make it a wire if
Hardware changes in the future then like these are you know these ar e supposed to be upgradeable over the cloud right yes so if they use a wire it might not be able to upgrade Hardware in the future but if it's always wireless it'll always work for the future I can't wait for them to send Android auto into here cuz this still doesn't have it yeah and the apple carplay is finicky and I've got a lot of comments from other people having trouble with disconnecting but what can you do buy something
else yes besides that yeah but the apple carplay does go all the way across the screen there's no points for that I guess and since the seats are also so comfortable we have heated armrests as well which is really nice on a day like today where it's just kind of cold we got a heated steering wheel do you know where the button is right in front of me boom how awesome is that really nice no tricks no nothing and then we have the same gauges that we have in the 3-series and the 8 Series and we both
still don't like these gauges so I guess tha t's the iDrive 7 gauges yeah exactly they're kind of alright they're not really customizable besides when you go into different modes they change colors and kind of like you have your leaders per hundred kilometers instead of your rpm and Eco Pro yeah but push B see my board computer yeah then we can change what's in the right and that's kind of nice we can see our horsepower torque how can we say our horsepower torque by pressing the BC button what if
you want your horse power and to rque there do you know how to get there no I couldn't find it Hamer's hey BMW vehicle settings say a menu option for example vehicle status vehicle settings sports displays sport displays please continue with manual control I hate all this technology I had I straight-up hate all this technically and menu option hey BMW horsepower and torque which one horsepower carriage and he rides ok whatever it's got some work to do yeah yeah a lot of work hello let me
film that so that we can make sure we get this in video but once you Rick really know it if you spend a month with it you'd be pretty on you have to spend a month with it to figure this whole system oh and that's my whole problem with it I am so overwhelmed driving this I have to think before I need to change a radio station it's like come on oh all my cooled seats how do I do that I press this button oh it's heated first then it's cooled I have to press the button to do that or I have to say
hey BMW cool my seat ok I don't like it look how stressed he is after two days look how not stressed I am first day I'm on first day I was on the same level as him after a month man but how many other BMWs have you driven the 3-series the eighth series and this one so I'm like two weeks in exactly so I have to spend two weeks just it's fun it's not fun it's not the worst I don't like this at all just the drive is not worth the stress of everything else to me to me it's fine the interior is
really nice I really like how this thing looks I like a lot of things about it but I'm so stressed out sitting in here and I fully get that I think they have some stuff they need to work on or set out like a summer camp for people who own BMWs to learn how to use them and to be completely transparent I was also frustrated with Mercedes getting into them at first however I got used to those and I don't mind them and I actually really like them now this one I don't get used to the more I'm in
it but we haven't spent any more time in the a class true in Canada this is true so we may have the same freakout in a little while we'll have to find out yeah hopefully not I hope not but I feel like it's gonna be similarly bad ah turn off my eat it see okay so now now let's get to the price okay one more thing the size peasant blockers in the back okay now let's really get to the price one other thing this has soft closed doors now let's really really get to the price this one starts at
seventy one thousand five hundred dollars but of course we have tons of packages to have all these really nice features unless this one sitting at ninety two thousand dollars Canadian Canadian that's a lot of money it is but cars are expensive these days yeah but you can get a less expensive car that's less frustrating as well but they can't sell a car for this price without adding all that stuff to it this is true because people will shop on features these days so sa y you could get an x5 with
this infotainment or an x5 with the previous I Drive which one would you take the previous I Drive even though you know after a month you could probably get used to it yes i Sega's hands down I still don't have Android auto so I don't care about any of this stuff I don't care about satellite radio I don't care about any of that stuff I just want to get to where I want to go and I want to have my horse power and torque on center gauge oh by the way this is Rowan Satellite Radio's but for sure I
would take this it is a lot more to learn but once you can take full advantage of it it's a lot of fun is it though yes because you can impress people with it and everyone who I've talked to the car in front of everyone who have shown the automatic parking and backup assist they've been super stoked on it so I look way cooler than I did previously alright yeah for an image wise like hey gesture controls all that stuff is fun you look cool doing it though no but people are excited to see that
cars can do it okay and I want to be the person to show it to them fair enough if you want to impress people and you want to show them how cool you are I guess you have to get this well that's like the main thing about BMWs is like impress people and show how cool you are but you could do that with the exterior and not have all this crazy stuff inside but if you don't have the crazy stuff you can't sell it for 92018 let us know what you guys think do you think that all this crazy stuff is good

with trip computer trip data please continue with manual control which is nice because now you don't need to dig through complicated menus to get more features what's the trip computer right now what's the trip computer so since refueling we have been getting through all those things you have everything it's hard to read exactly what the screen shows up quickly all right fine now the next cool feature that this has that older ones didn' t you have a backup assistant so what that means is if
you drive 50 meters into somewhere you can go into reverse and it'll automatically back you up that exact same route and I use it to get out of my dad's tricky driveway look how tight it god that's very cool that it could do that no problem impressive it is very impressive and you don't even need to like trick the system it works so easily with a click of a button the next thing is the Park Assist so I use the Park Assist fo r parallel parking on a normal Street in a tight spot and it got in
there just fine probably better than I could have done on my own and it's super easy to use it actually shows you where the spot is you click that to confirm confirm that you're gonna do a parallel park and it gets right in there change the gears for you automatically nice now to the lane keep so it keeps you in your lanes just like Mercedes does right yes it does but not as good not as good that's I was gonna sa y as well it kind of looks like it's not looking as far front of heads as it should
yes and if you don't have Lane keep on active the lane departure still works really well as shown here and if you want to turn everything off because you're frustrated with it you just press and hold on the center button right here I call that the safety halo yeah yeah I like it and new for I Drive seven this does have traffic jam assistant which technically under 60 kilometers an hour when you're in a traffic jam you'll click the mode button and it'll let you have your hands off as long as your
eyes are looking forward because there's a sensor that looks at your eyes when you said this did you mean this exact car this exact one does not I tried I tried I called BMW turns out they sent this x5 without that technology because they wanted to get some reviews out this is an early production unit yeah that kind of happens sometimes if you buy one yours will happen oh and by the way th at also applies to the 3-series that we drove in Portugal and the m8 5000 those reviews they didn't have
that enabled either so next BMW review yes quick cut to Friday morning I woke up super early drove to the BMW guy picked up an x5 with traffic jam assist that worked went to the Don Valley Parkway look for some traffic the second I hit stop and go traffic it prompted me I hit mode and traffic jam assist turned on I stayed in my lane no hands on the wheel the whole time I was st uck in stop-and-go traffic it worked just like it was supposed to good job BMW if you guys put in a feature just put it
in the car give it to us after yeah but but we want those early view yeah yeah like you wouldn't have done a pre-production set for of course I would yeah hey BMW give us a pre-production said before it went I said hey BMW give us ok whatever it's a it's a small problem that only journalists who do video have to face speaking of things in this BMW going wrong when y ou don't want them to go wrong gesture controls yeah well you move your hands a lot oh I do so you can I'm gonna keep my hand all
the way you can do this to turn up the volume and turn it down so the sensor is right here so it's actually pretty much above the shifter so you have to do all of your motions above the shifter and then it works and what I found is very cool is I actually started using it the more and more I get prompted as a reminder and what's your favorite one your if I go to a whining satellite radio stations this will rewind for me and this will go forward it actually does legitimately work yeah and you
look kind of like a crazy person it's much easier to just push the buttons but it's very impressive to people who don't know the car can do that one time one time in ik time yep but at Tim Hortons you know I was at their drive-thru I'm just doing this while getting something else into my other pocket it does work it does two more things so sa y we get confused by all the tech in here when we scroll down in the help menu there's a little play button that plays videos of how to do everything so
it's very easy to explain to people cool yes and the last thing we've got kicked open trunk which may not seem like a big deal but combined with the way they do keyless entry it's so perfect I used it to kick it open when I got out of my car pulled something that I needed both arms to carry out of the car use the kick to close it and then I use just my pinky on the keyless closing to make sure the car was closed didn't have to push a button or anything and I didn't to put anything down and since
we're talking so much about the trunk box test 13 boxes finally you guys want those pairs or not so then should we do the visor test yeah I guess we might as well 3 2 1 yes perfect yep and a small cup it's the same as all the other cup holders is it though heated and cooled cup holders ok besides that yeah that's prett y gangster that is so gangster good job BMW I don't know how well it works I'm sure we'll test it out one day yeah we'll get two ice caps in the summer and see how fast the heated
and this would melt them yeah yeah so I've been rambling for a bunch what would you like to talk about before I let you drive I'd like to talk about the looks it looks really friggin good it does I love the new BMW design language everyone's making fun of that big grill but like it works yeah I have no issu es with it I think this is one of the best-looking SUVs in the segment now definitely it's very proportionate and I don't think the grill is too big it's not x7 size no it's not so it's safe
still and the headlights look really good and we do have the laser lights overall it's a very aggressive looking SUV like it looks way better than the Mercedes G Olli and I even think it looks better than the Cayenne now yes potentially just looks I'm on the edge I do like that it's white I thin k it looks nice in this color but did you notice the fake girls at the front I did not my favorite passable yeah yeah it's like but at least it's not plastic cladding on the fender flairs see exactly or
fake vents on the side which this does also have do you like the body line on the side of this didn't really notice it I think it's so crisp it looks so good I didn't really notice it didn't stand out that that's one of the things that I know if you noticed exhaust tips and stuff and I noticed like Chris body lines let's talk about those exhaust tips brutal but not the worst they're kind of buried they're not as bad as the m8 they're not double exactly so it's a fake surround with the exhaust
tip in the middle and you can see it very clearly and speaking of that exhaust it actually sounds pretty good for its inline six it's not like a v8 like their big 50 i but it sounds decent and it sounds a lot better in Sport+ inside yeah it does taillights taillights are really good they're so similar to the BMW 3-series yes remember everyone was complaining about that for some reason they like it looks like your copied lexus lexus yeah but on here they look perfect they look great and lit
up they're like full size they flash when your turn see what's going on like I friggin love these taillights I think people were more upset at the 3-series ones because they kind of curved up these ones kind of curve up and go around but it's a design that wor ks across the whole lineup now yes do you like the look of the wheels because I personally do not but these are winters I can't even remember what they look like the black black and we are not uncon tential tires and we are finally sort of
getting out of winter so the recommended Continental Tire would be the premium contact six don't forget to enter the contest and do it details below what do you think about the brake calipers though em brake calipers because we have the M package t his isn't a full M but it has the M Sport package yep and we just need to accept that because that's life for everyone now yeah M Sport and this and performance and line AMG wheels AMG's bumpers yeah whatever whatever F Sport we'll get used to it one
day message board bumper anything else what the looks black roof rack alright okay I guess your turn to drive sure I noticed you're in comfort mode Sport Plus send it's pretty quick so a zero to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and if you want t o go almost a full second faster than that you can get the v8 twin-turbo 50i but overall this drivetrain is very good and there's a huge difference between comfort and sport plus like massive difference in this car yeah so I really like Sport Plus but it's
absolutely not necessary in this so what I appreciate the most is having sport individual because what BMW did was separate the transmission from the engine in sport individual so the way I set it up is always have the engin e in Sport Plus and the transmission in just normal mode so did we say that BMW is in the lead for customizing drive modes absolutely and especially in the M cars where you get the 2 M buttons good job guys but I stuck an eco pro pretty much the whole time really yeah like
it's not lightning fast it's not crackling and popping like what do I need to go kind of faster in a kind of faster SUV I appreciate the quickness of this and the handling handling is good for like I'm never in a situation that I need to push this but then you probably don't want any performance SUV at all well only straight line performance SUVs ok like the track Hawk what about the Cayenne though Kyle was nice but we haven't driven the performance models yet no we haven't yet but we will very
soon then I'm sure I'll turn obnoxious but I get a Porsche SUV is like is it really an SUV or is it kind of just like secretly a taller no it's definitely a Porsche SUV is typically a taller car well that's what this competes with and the biggest thing that I noticed with the mode changes is when you have any comfort the gear changes are like very slow normal very smooth and then as soon as you put in Sport Plus it's like almost violently quick I really like this transmission it's nice that BMW
doesn't dumb down their transmission for lower models exactly we have a fast transmission and it goes in everything like if you want to go faster will make you go faster I could be wrong b ut I'm pretty sure this is the exact same transmission that's in the MA 50 i and the 3-series as well because it feels so good exactly it feels the same and then the drive modes also customise the suspension because we do have adaptive suspension so I'm gonna put it into Sport Plus and send it in the
cliche corner send it into cliche corner shirt teespring check it out okay so this handles really well it's not quite Porsche but if you don't want pet from an SUV this is so g ood this is like a really good middle ground before you get into a Porsche but it handles so well and it's really quick as well but back to that suspension it's nice and supple especially in comfort mode when you want to send it it's not too stiff in Sport Plus the suspension is so comfortable and come from oh there's
barely any body roll in Sport Plus there's definitely body roll in comfort but that's where you want it and like little bumps like you barely feel them at all exact ly and overall the car feels so solid this gives me that Porsche level of solidity going over bumps I agree and typical of BMWs as soon as you put in the Sport Plus with the steering it gets pretty heavy but it's not that heavy it's not like a 3-series heavy and some of our complaints with BMWs is really girthy steering wheels as
one's good this is good I forgot that doesn't complain exactly felt so good yeah this is normal so BMW start putting this in your 3-series and all that stuff I concur and this is X Drive so it is all-wheel drive and it's not like understeery it feels very rear biased and I believe that can even send up to 100% of the power to the rear wheels in probably one scenario but that's about it so in terms of driving this is excellent one of my favorites for sure I agree now let's talk about the interior
yes hey BMW massage which one of these destinations should I select Oh massage clinic I think I should have said turn on my massage so in ca se we don't want to go a massage destination we can also press this button right over here to turn on the massage and what's cool is that you can control my side with that number 2 button right there but you can't control my massage from there which makes sense so they're kind of stepping on Mercedes turf now exactly so the massage is very good it's got
a whole bunch of different modes I like a lot yeah I like it a lot too but mostly I think I just really liked these seats yeah t he seats are super comfortable they are both heated and cooled but the leather quality it's real it's unreal the colour is cool and remember how the x3 seats weren't as comfortable it felt like there was always like a balloon in the back yes nothing here yeah exactly Nathan these seats are really good everything looks really nice the stitching and everything like it
looks really classy in here let's talk about this color brown because we're talking about that earlier we've complai ned about shades of brown in other interiors this is a really good shade of interior Brown yes it's not the Mercedes saddle brown I think yeah it's not as light as that but it's a good BMW version of their own Brown it looked just really good it's not like the Mazda one where it's pretty much black or like the Sierra Denali which is pretty much black we hate that ya know as for
other things in here we do have this nice dark wooden trim I don't really like it it doesn't stand out b ut I think it's a subtle wood yeah it feels really old person ish to me but doesn't look like you're trying too hard like you know in the Mercedes when it's like super exposed dry wood with no glass you're like whoa I like that like I got to be careful about spilling juice on this that's true if I spill anything on this like whatever wipe it off it's a good point and there's not too much gloss
black in here and in front of the crystal shifter which by the way this also has a crystal s hifter with the X in the middle unlike the 8 with the 8 Series I need to point out an unintentional feature of the crystal shifter oh I know what it is when the Sun hits it right it shoots rainbows up on different parts of that headliner and I'm sure at one angle it'll just nail you in the eye and you'll be blinded yeah but like by the rainbow yeah well and you for I Drive seven I can actually program my
apple carplay to one of the preset buttons and then we also have wireless chargi ng which is pretty nice to have speaking of wireless charging you know what else we have that's wireless wireless carplay Wireless carplay and mine kept disconnecting so you need to connect through Wi-Fi and bluetooth if it disconnects at all then you need to forget your networks rejoin it's pretty much a nightmare I absolutely hate it but the reason they're doing it that way if they make it a wire if
Hardware changes in the future then like these are you know these ar e supposed to be upgradeable over the cloud right yes so if they use a wire it might not be able to upgrade Hardware in the future but if it's always wireless it'll always work for the future I can't wait for them to send Android auto into here cuz this still doesn't have it yeah and the apple carplay is finicky and I've got a lot of comments from other people having trouble with disconnecting but what can you do buy something
else yes besides that yeah but the apple carplay does go all the way across the screen there's no points for that I guess and since the seats are also so comfortable we have heated armrests as well which is really nice on a day like today where it's just kind of cold we got a heated steering wheel do you know where the button is right in front of me boom how awesome is that really nice no tricks no nothing and then we have the same gauges that we have in the 3-series and the 8 Series and we both
still don't like these gauges so I guess tha t's the iDrive 7 gauges yeah exactly they're kind of alright they're not really customizable besides when you go into different modes they change colors and kind of like you have your leaders per hundred kilometers instead of your rpm and Eco Pro yeah but push B see my board computer yeah then we can change what's in the right and that's kind of nice we can see our horsepower torque how can we say our horsepower torque by pressing the BC button what if
you want your horse power and to rque there do you know how to get there no I couldn't find it Hamer's hey BMW vehicle settings say a menu option for example vehicle status vehicle settings sports displays sport displays please continue with manual control I hate all this technology I had I straight-up hate all this technically and menu option hey BMW horsepower and torque which one horsepower carriage and he rides ok whatever it's got some work to do yeah yeah a lot of work hello let me

hey BMW cool my seat ok I don't like it look how stressed he is after two days look how not stressed I am first day I'm on first day I was on the same level as him after a month man but how many other BMWs have you driven the 3-series the eighth series and this one so I'm like two weeks in exactly so I have to spend two weeks just it's fun it's not fun it's not the worst I don't like this at all just the drive is not worth the stress of everything else to me to me it's fine the interior is
really nice I really like how this thing looks I like a lot of things about it but I'm so stressed out sitting in here and I fully get that I think they have some stuff they need to work on or set out like a summer camp for people who own BMWs to learn how to use them and to be completely transparent I was also frustrated with Mercedes getting into them at first however I got used to those and I don't mind them and I actually really like them now this one I don't get used to the more I'm in
it but we haven't spent any more time in the a class true in Canada this is true so we may have the same freakout in a little while we'll have to find out yeah hopefully not I hope not but I feel like it's gonna be similarly bad ah turn off my eat it see okay so now now let's get to the price okay one more thing the size peasant blockers in the back okay now let's really get to the price one other thing this has soft closed doors now let's really really get to the price this one starts at
seventy one thousand five hundred dollars but of course we have tons of packages to have all these really nice features unless this one sitting at ninety two thousand dollars Canadian Canadian that's a lot of money it is but cars are expensive these days yeah but you can get a less expensive car that's less frustrating as well but they can't sell a car for this price without adding all that stuff to it this is true because people will shop on features these days so sa y you could get an x5 with
this infotainment or an x5 with the previous I Drive which one would you take the previous I Drive even though you know after a month you could probably get used to it yes i Sega's hands down I still don't have Android auto so I don't care about any of this stuff I don't care about satellite radio I don't care about any of that stuff I just want to get to where I want to go and I want to have my horse power and torque on center gauge oh by the way this is Rowan Satellite Radio's but for sure I
would take this it is a lot more to learn but once you can take full advantage of it it's a lot of fun is it though yes because you can impress people with it and everyone who I've talked to the car in front of everyone who have shown the automatic parking and backup assist they've been super stoked on it so I look way cooler than I did previously alright yeah for an image wise like hey gesture controls all that stuff is fun you look cool doing it though no but people are excited to see that
cars can do it okay and I want to be the person to show it to them fair enough if you want to impress people and you want to show them how cool you are I guess you have to get this well that's like the main thing about BMWs is like impress people and show how cool you are but you could do that with the exterior and not have all this crazy stuff inside but if you don't have the crazy stuff you can't sell it for 92018 let us know what you guys think do you think that all this crazy stuff is good
