2021 Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder Review - Screaming V10

[Music] I'm here I'm J now we're going for a drive [Music] 2018 Lamborghini Huracan her Fermont a spider but we have the top up because it's freezing outside so this is our first Lambo yes it is so let's start with horsepower and torque okay 631 horsepower 443 pound-feet of torque and what kind of engine doesn't have a 5.2 liter v10 naturally aspirated but there's a problem with that what's the problem v12 the doors go up v10 but the doors don't this is true so you don't get lambo doors on a

Lambo and we actually sampled the Aventador s before we drove this one Thank You Grand Tour in Toronto for providing both of these cars and the v12 feels so different the Aventador feels so different compared to this car okay we'll do a comparison in the future yes we will once we review every single car in the world that's right maybe next year so maybe I should put it into sport mode shift down and send that yeah I guess so [Music] okay so what's a close competitor to this car oh w e've driven

the Porsche gt2 RS what do you like more so far I don't know I think the Porsche was easier to get into and go this is also very easy to get into a go but it feels more special because it is a Lambo this does feel more special this fuels theatrical India Arison but it is very easy to drive very easy like you've got a nose lift system so you have to worry about curbs yeah even though easy is very low so let's get into this supercar checklist then okay let's start with the visor test three two

one fails so that's a posture preserver and we've got this little warning sticker that looks like it's ready to be removed is it fast [Music] yes yeah it is is it loud wait before you do that and they put the window down send it yeah it's very loud okay how about the box test there's no way would fit a box supercar pass we actually don't have our boxes with us today not gonna be not gonna fit that's a super car pass does it have a gimmicky steering wheel not r eally I mean we've got turn signals

on the steering wheel and our light controls fine yeah actually you're a hundred percent correct because it took me like five minutes to cancel the turn signal just cruising down the highway with your left turn signal on yep small cup of coffee there's no cup holders there's no cup holders in this whole car that's a super card plus yeah that's a full puppy Aventador had like those little Mazda Miata style clips but I believe it's an option they hav e to buy some what do the doors go up no

so that's a supercar fail yeah but I have seen door mods for Erick cons I think it's super cool we can't include mods not fair but in general I like the idea of it do you look cool getting in or out not as cool as like scissor doors but you're still a cool little Lambo but it's very easy getting it out yes it is so is this a superpower sleeve obviously it's a supercar come on super expensive yeah so back to the simple everyday driving o f this car it is automatic it can be automatic yes so you've

got this AM button which will get you in manual mode or automatic mode we've got our paddle shifters mounted on the column just like yes Martens yes and unlike the Aventador this has a parking button that one you just pull the parking brake up yeah when you're in first or whatever that's right which is interesting it was interesting very Lambo ish yes so like we said there are some buttons on the steering wheel that are kind of crazy turn signal is on the left and you have to push in to cancel

it that's right and your high beam is also above that so you have to hold that and our washer fluid whatever our sport modes are also on the steering wheel at the bottom so strata sport and Corsa which i think is a little easier to use here then in the Aventador but there is no custom button that's right there is no ego and then we also have our menu stuff here on the Left which controls our infotainment gauge sc reen yes because we pretty much just have one gate screen the second one is just

kind of really small and displays some temperatures so let's mess with the gauges for a minute all right we don't have any infotainment screen which is nice looking but the event stored in this one has your rpm in the left and strata when you go to sport it's still on the left but it turns more yellow yes and what happens in Corsa it goes super crazy video game style yeah race color it's like a little overdone graphic wise I think there's not supposed to be anything subtle a little bimbo but I

mean it's not like I don't think it's as clear to see I don't know I have to test around the track Lamborghini I think it's fairly clear but yeah send us to the track and the cool part is when you're in the normal mode if you use apple carplay or Android auto and I'm sorry there is no Android auto yeah there is when you use apple carplay it shows up right in the middle and you have no tach is that the cool part it's interesting it's interesting I think it's interesting I think they omitted

Android auto because Android auto people be like oh this just doesn't make any sense I just want to see my tech people can't drive BMWs listen nobody were using a phone in here at all a Lambo ever to control our infotainment we also have a scroll wheel this is not a touchscreen that's correct which you may have guessed no I didn't think I would ever have to touch that screen bu t that's cool I like scroll wheels like you know yeah it works you know exactly what the press at whatever time

it's very clear and let's finish off the interior I guess before you start driving it we have hard buttons for everything and we've got cool toggle switches yeah and then we got gloss black which whatever it's a Lambo you're not gonna feigning yourself but the most Lambo part is I think the start/stop button protector 1000% is called the bolt Ector it's like a jet o h yeah missile yeah so lift it up it locks in at the pushing down you give it a little tap and it softly goes down it's the coolest

little touch I saw that on the earth yep it was in the aventador little thing we're gonna drive it or later I'm very excited to compare that to this so am i and in the rest of this car we have forged composites which helped make this car lighter overall because this is the perform on Tay that's the special Lamborghini material that's right it's a cool ca rbon fiber it's a cool take on a carbon fiber a pattern it looks awesome and then we have el cantare up here with some nice red stitching I'm

sure you can change basically everything you want in here yeah I do like the pattern on the c2 it's got that hexagon pattern and we have that hexagon pattern on the floor mats to put the floor mats like super slippery yeah they are they're almost like grip tape but kind of slippery yeah but he's my piloti shoes on it to go from gas to break i t's very nice it is very nice and the seats are overall very very comfortable like super bolstered but not overly bolster I didn't notice anything weird

about the seats which is weird because usually when you get into like a fast car you're like falling to seat this were to sleep at yeah like when we drove the McLaren those were so bolstered that we actually kind of both struggled getting in or out because of the side sills yeah and we got the Lambo logo on the seat which is like very very required overall as a six foot one and a half person this interior is very cramped yeah beef five foot eight and a half honesty when I was a kid I wanted to

be taller I wanted to be like a basketball player like a hockey player or something and like now five foot eight and a half is perfect I don't fit in any race cars or fast cars in general don't worry about tinder just worry about cars but and on that note I guess it's your turn to drive yes this have lost control I'll find out launch control oh my god okay it's called the rust mode mrs. sorry I got excited how do we get into that mode okay we had to go into Corsa and actually turn off the

traction control Louise can you please put it back action control on a transport okay that was nerve-racking like seven seconds sounded good okay so this does zero to 100 kilometers in about 3.1 seconds which is pretty wild we can't hook up because it's cold outside what this is still so crazy to drive yeah and it's got a huge wide wheels yeah 305 so back its massive time very good but I believe you can get Pirelli in Trofeo ours which probably would have helped but whatever let's talk about how

this drives strata sport and Corsa makes a pretty big difference in how it handles and how the transmission and engine reacts so you put it in Corsa and it's like violent shifts which is nice yeah it's awesome let's mention something crazy about the Aventador we drove okay that is a single clutc h yes it is when you shift every single time it's like oh it feels ancient and amazing and this is like very precise yes this is dual clutch so when you have it in strata and sport you almost don't feel

the shifts like Porsche PDK so speaking of Porsche speaking of Lamborghini speaking the Nurburgring yeah the perform on teh set the Nurburgring lap time this year and then Porsche destroyed it slightly with the gt2 RS and now Lambo took it back with the svj and then even more recentl y Porsche tried to take it back with a modified version of the gt2 RS which I don't think really counts okay but it wasn't a spider it wasn't the spider but wearing the spider yes we are and I've been on

the Nurburgring so it's kind of how many times two laps dies nice yeah one thing I don't think we've mentioned actually is that it's all wheel drive so there is a rear wheel drive version with less horsepower that's right about 570 ish yeah we haven't really pushed this c ar that hard to be able to tell and we don't want to write this car off but I'm sure it handles corners quite well at the limit we got to attractive we do and let's get into what makes the poor for monta a prefer Monta different

from the regular Eric on the Italian flag on the door that is one thing this is also lighter than the regular one by about seventy seven pounds I believe thanks to those forged carbon composites inside and a bunch of forged carbon outside and then we also have the a la system on the outside that's the crazy active error that comes out of the spoiler yeah super cool i believe in italian it's called aerodynamic ax lamborghini ateva anyway can we get it to the Italian to sum this a little bit I

would love to how do we check our oil pressure when we look at these gauges and it says press olio temperature Julio and batería I think is Potidaea Vidia whatever you have it up there temp aqua and then our gas is called benzene that's amazing can you change the language I don't think so I think it's already been changed I like that I think that's super cool I love it so overall lighter better and faster than the regular Huracan okay but personally I think I like the look of a terra cotta with

nothing on it really yeah like no body kit no spoilers I mean this is perfect for a Huracan I like less just like I like a cool Tosh with less on it too you have to look at that wing I like the wing but I like less at how much less perf ormance are you gonna get out of that like to be honest I think I'll never be able to max it out you know exactly so for me I get the one that I like to look most fair enough I might also not be able to afford one because lambs are expensive yeah this is kind of

expensive let's talk about the looks then okay I think it looks absolutely stunning the headlights amazing oh my god rear view mirror like perfect shapes so angry looking uh-huh the rear end so aggressive so much going on ba ck there the exhaust unreal I like how the taillights is like one section of an Aventador taillight yeah yeah yeah I feel like those yeah I noticed that which is also the Veloster and yeah whatever it's good I really like telling Austrian probably copied this yeah

yeah whatever and before we talk more about looks [Music] oh my god crackles and pops which is really cool but it sounds really good and strong as well but it can also be pretty quiet in strata exactly because st rata is you're driving daily more I'd like to lay the exhaustive look yeah they look awesome coming out of the bumper like right in the middle and that's very different than the regular Aragon I also love the wheels the wheels suit this car so well naeuri now since this is a

Huracan perform on tape [Music] I love this car so much it's dizzying it's amazing it's so fast and it hooks up almost every time hooking up like way more than I guess the gt2 RS did teach R Us it's j ust a cliche corner we would not have to sweep it technically it's less yeah we were not sweeping one thing that I noticed while sitting in here the mirrors they look so cool everything is carbon everything is crazy like that's the thing that you get with a Lambo just everything's over-the-top it's

like if you're a child you can design a car this is it this is what you take you know perhaps the Aventador as well but yeah we should probably mention for those who don't know about Lambo rghinis the engines in the back oh yeah we should it is a mid-engine car so it is right behind us what I love about rear engine / mid-engine cars is how the front can slope down so sharply and be so small I know and I like the shape of this front more than the events are because even there was like too sharp

and pointy this is like a nice cool like shaped like that yeah I get it I just think the Aventador is just so crazy and so cool because it is the v12 and the doors go up exactl y back to this interior for a second I love these paddles these forged carbon paddles yeah the steering wheel feels so good the car turns so well like everything about it just like you feel completely connected to the car I've got another question for you looks-wise do you like the Spyder more than no I'll be honest I like

the coop a more than this but what I fully agree but I think the sound experience with this top-down and that exhaust would be unreal I know it's kind of hard to li ke in the summer not Drive Tom down exactly and the other problem is that I don't really fit in here I believe the coop a has slightly more room with the roof up anything you'd fin here with a helmet on no I would have to take the top down and then fit which is fine but then my head's probably above the roof line and I don't know if I

want to be on the track like that damn yeah I mean I still do it yeah so should we get into the price yeah we probably should right around $400,000 as i t sits three hundred and ninety one thousand Canadian that's right bargain for a Lambo as far as I'm concerned what are you gonna do not get a Lambo that's what you got to pay for it yeah pretty much I think that's fair for the name and we've driven a lot of other supercars now like the gt2 RS the gt3 RS the McLaren 650s 570s yeah I think

the price of this compared to the price of the gt2 RS is very even it's very even and very similar around the river but the exclusivity of t he gt2 RS wins like you just can't get one if you want one that's true these are slightly less exclusive but man you're still in a Lambo well yeah you're eating a lamb but these are like a lot less exclusive like you can actually see these in the wild this is true I have have seen a couple so what are you thinking gt2 RS over this I honestly don't know if

your life enables you to be able to decide between those two you kind of can't go wrong here's if you're gonna be driving it on the street every day I would take this if you're gonna be driving it on the track I think I would have to take the gt2 RS I think that's 100% fair and the majority of the reason for that is that because I actually fit in the Porsche gt2 RS with a helmet the more I think about it like I like the flashiness of a Lambo over a Porsche exactly the gt3 RS barely anyone

noticed us exactly and people are taking pictures of this thing like we're wrapping it up for people you hold both t he paddles in guess what you're in neutral so let us know if you would take this we're in gt2 RS and why or something else McLaren is there's tons of freaking supercars now so don't forget to subscribe hit the notification bow check out Grand Touring join our patreon join our YouTube and share the video with your car friends see if they like the channel and thanks to you guys

we're actually driving this Lambo because you guys said yeah you guys should review a Lambo guess what w ing V10
